Week two ends with 7 minutes running, 5 minutes walking, 2 sets in total. That is 24 minutes on the move, 14 of them running, in two long pieces. The run has grown by 2 minutes since last Sunday and the walk stays long to match it - the program is generous with recovery whenever it asks for a bigger single effort.
Seven minutes is where running starts to feel like running. The first couple of minutes are the body negotiating, the middle stretch is where rhythm arrives, and the last minute or two is where you find out whether your pace was honest. The second set then asks you to do the whole thing again on legs that have already done it once. Two sets rather than three keeps the total manageable while making each run meaningfully longer, which is the trade the long day makes every week.
Begin slower than you think you need to; 7 minutes rewards patience and punishes a fast start. Settle into a steady breathing pattern early, keep the cadence quick and the stride short, and relax the hands and jaw - tension anywhere costs energy everywhere. Use the 5-minute walk to recover properly, but keep walking rather than standing.
Seven minutes, twice over - a number that would have looked like a lot two weeks ago.
Make it Harder: Run the last minute of the second 7-minute piece at a stronger pace, then take an easy 5-minute walk to finish.
Make it Easier: Take a 1-minute walk in the middle of each 7-minute run if needed, and keep both sets.
