60 Days of HIIT by DAREBEE
SETS

Day 34 introduces the exercise that will anchor every remaining lower body day in the program. Four 15-second intervals - lunge step-ups on the right, a balance hold on the right, lunge step-ups on the left, then the hold on the left - three, five or seven sets, one minute of rest.

A lunge step-up is two movements welded together: drop into a lunge, then drive up through the front leg all the way to standing and continue into a high knee, so the rear leg finishes with its knee lifted to hip height. Down into the lunge, up into the knee drive, back down again. It takes the strength demand of a lunge and adds an explosive finish and a moment of single-leg balance at the top. Pairing it with the balance hold - standing tall on one leg with the opposite knee up at hip height and the hands gathered at the shin - means you spend fifteen seconds passing through that top position and then fifteen more living in it.

Drive up through the whole front foot and let the knee lift come from the hip rather than from a hop. Stay tall throughout - the temptation is to lean forward on the way up. In the hold, plant the standing foot, lift the chest, and let the ankle do its work.

Lunge, rise, balance, repeat - the lower body's signature move for the rest of the program arrives today.

Make it Harder: Rise onto the toes of the standing foot at the top of every step-up before dropping back into the lunge.

Make it Easier: Come to standing without the knee drive and keep a fingertip on a wall for the balance holds.

I love the pictures, the variety, the amount of time it takes to complete a workout and how you can mix and match if you have a lot of energy or only repeat 3 times if you don’t feel like exercising. The website is awesome and I recommend it whenever I talk about fitness with other people. I cannot thank Darebee enough for how much this project has helped me in having a solid exercise routine and how to deal with exercise when tired, injured or when I don’t have much time.

I also love the concept of "exercise of the day". This website is just awesome. I came to know this website around 2025 since than it has been bookmarked in my browser. I request the developers to please launch the mobile app. I would absolutely love to see it's app on the app Store.
