Day 55 is 60 minutes of walking, non-stop, and it is the last ordinary 60 before the last 90. Every technique in the program has been covered; every cue has had its day. What is left is the walk itself, and the question of what to do with the mind while the body does the hour.
There is no right answer. Some people walk with music and let the tempo set the cadence; some walk with a podcast and arrive at the end of the hour surprised it is over; some walk in silence and count steps, or breaths, or landmarks. Some walk with company and let the conversation pace the walk - the conversation test from Day 1 is also a pace check. Fifty-four days in, you know which of these makes your hour go best. Today, use it deliberately. The only rule is that the thing you do with your mind must not slow your feet.
Brisk from the first five minutes, every cue on autopilot, the glutes driving, the breath in rhythm. If something has drifted - the shoulders up, the stride reaching - fix it and move on. Finish the hour at the pace you started it. After today there are five days left, and three of them are walks you have done fifty times.
Fifty-five days in and the walk is yours - music, silence or company, it all counts.
Make it Harder: Take a route with stairs or steps in it and keep the pace walking up them.
Make it Easier: Put a podcast on and let the episodes measure the hour.
