A staff is a hard edge that extends the reach of the body. It has no ability to move on its own. It cannot reason. It is blind to its environment. Therefore, everything we do with it is something we'd do with our own limbs if they were long enough and hard enough to stand in for a Bo Staff. There are many physical and mental benefits to working out with weapons. Beyond the practical ones, however, it is the fun element that makes these workouts attractive. Suddenly, in our mind, we are transported to a time when fighting with edged weapons was a thing. This recruits our imagination, engages our brain and changes the way we feel. The workouts below do all of this. The only word of caution we'd add is to make sure there are no breakables around you as you swing your staff, we know from experience what happens when enthusiasm at a new-found ability collides with the modern home environment.
