A 15-minute run, non-stop, on Saturday. The shortest run in the program for the second Saturday running, placed the day before the last hour-long run. Brisk, short, and mostly an excuse to get outside.
Fifteen minutes keeps the legs honest without touching the reserves. The program is eight days from race day and every session now is about arriving rested, sharp and confident. Run it light and relaxed, note how easy fifteen minutes has become since Day 1, and spend the rest of the day preparing for tomorrow's hour.
Five minutes easy, five brisk, five easy. Cool down with a walk. Eat and drink well; tomorrow is the last run of any real length before the race.
Fifteen brisk minutes eight days out - the run is small, and the fitness it sits on is not.
Make it Harder: Run the middle 5 minutes at a steady pace, no faster.
Make it Easier: Jog the full 15 minutes.
