Common Mistakes

The cardiovascular engine responds to sustained demand and is indifferent to its source: walk briskly toward the step-curve's plateau, cycle or swim or skip or stair-climb, keep the mostly-easy-sometimes-hard structure, progress by 10%, and collect the full health and fitness returns through whichever door your joints, weather, equipment and preferences hold open. Running is one fine answer. The engine never asked for it by name.
