Crunch Kicks - What it Works
Focus: Abs
Type: Strength
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Lie back with your head and shoulders lifted off the floor and your arms extended along your sides, palms hovering or lightly touching the floor. Tuck your knees in toward your chest, then kick both legs out straight so they hover above the floor - and pull them right back in. Your upper body holds its lifted crunch position the whole time while your legs fold and extend, and your lower back stays pressed into the floor.

Works: abs, hip flexors, quads

Breathing: Exhale as you kick the legs out, inhale as you tuck them back in.

Common Mistakes: Letting the lower back arch off the floor as the legs extend, dropping the head and shoulders down between reps, and kicking so low the legs touch down.

Make Easier: Kick your legs out higher rather than low, or let your heels rest on the floor briefly between reps - or build up with Crunches and Flutter Kicks first.

Make Harder: Extend the legs lower and hold the kicked-out position for a beat, or move on to Air Bike Crunches or Hundreds.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.
