Unbound is a dynamic stretching routine, which means it uses movement to prepare the body rather than holding still positions. Leg swings carry the leg forward and back through its full range, which opens the hip flexors and hamstrings. Side leg swings move the leg across the body and out to the side, targeting the inner and outer hip. Hip rotations circle the hips in both directions to loosen the joint. Single hip rotations isolate each side. Arm circles open the shoulder joint through its complete range of motion. Chest expansion hugs pull the arms wide then wrap them in, alternating between opening and closing the chest. Alternating chest expansions do the same with one arm at a time.
Dynamic stretching before a workout is more effective than static stretching for improving performance and reducing injury risk. The movements increase blood flow, raise the temperature of the muscles, and rehearse the ranges the body will need during training. Unbound covers the hips, legs, and upper body systematically - everything that needs to move freely before it is asked to work hard.
Do it before every session. The body will notice the difference.
