Ultimate Abs is a floor circuit of nine exercises at ten reps each, and the name is about coverage, not bravado. Crunches, folded crunches and circle crunches work the trunk from the top down; leg raises, scissors and more leg raises load it from the bottom up; flutter kicks and heel taps split the difference; and back extensions close the loop by training the other side of your waist entirely. Nothing here is exotic. All of it together is thorough.
The circuit descends through the abdominal wall in blocks. The three crunch variations come first because upper abdominal flexion is the freshest-friendly pattern - straight, folded, then circling, each adding a plane of movement to the same basic curl. The middle block flips the lever: leg raises and scissors fix the ribcage and make the lower fibers and hip flexors control the weight of your legs, which is heavier work, placed while you still have something left. Flutter kicks and heel taps then trade load for endurance and add the obliques. Back extensions are the closing argument - ten reps for the spinal erectors, because a midsection trained only on its front side pulls you into a permanent slouch. The flat ten-rep count keeps you honest: every exercise gets equal billing, so the weak ones have nowhere to hide.
Curl up by peeling your shoulder blades off the floor and keep your chin off your chest - your hands support your head, they do not pull it. In circle crunches, make the circle with your torso, slow and round in both directions. For every leg-lowering exercise, your lower back stays gently pressed into the floor; the moment it lifts, cut the range or bend the knees rather than grinding on. Keep flutter kicks small and quick from the hips. In the back extensions, lift chest and thighs a few centimeters with a long neck - height is not the goal, tension is.
Ten reps, nine exercises, zero gaps - ultimate was never about difficulty, it was about leaving nothing out.
Make it Harder: Slow every rep to a 2-count up and 2-count down.
Make it Easier: Rest your hands under your hips during the leg raises, scissors and flutter kicks.
