DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Fullbody
Type: Metcon
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Tarnished is a full-body conditioning workout named for the exiled wanderers of Elden Ring - the ones who begin with nothing, die repeatedly, and keep returning until the Lands Between run out of ways to stop them. Side-to-side hops, lunges, side lunges, punches, backfists and side chops build the mobility and striking endurance of someone fighting their way back to grace, and the closing 10-count squat hold is your personal Site of Grace - except there is no resting at this one.

The structure splits into a footwork half and a striking half, the same two skills that keep a Tarnished alive. The hops train lateral agility and springiness in the ankles - the dodge-roll of the real world. Standard lunges load each leg through a deep forward pattern, then side lunges shift the same demand into the frontal plane, stretching and strengthening the inner thighs. The striking block flows from straight punches to backfists to side chops, working the shoulders through three different arcs while your hips supply the rotation underneath. The final squat hold arrives when your legs have already paid their toll, and asks for ten more seconds anyway.

Stay light and quick on the hops, landing on the balls of your feet. Push your hips back in the side lunge and keep the trailing leg straight - the stretch along the inner thigh is the point. Rotate every strike from the ground up, hips before hands, and snap the backfists out and back rather than swinging them.

Rise, Tarnished. The set ends. You return. That is the whole game.

Make it Harder: Double the closing hold to a 20-count and sink deeper.

Make it Easier: Step the side-to-side hops instead of jumping.

Extra Credit: 1 minute rest between sets.

I have always wanted to find a place that would meet me at my level wherever I am, encourage me to stay motivated, fit in my busy schedule, not require a gym membership, offer variety, be fun, help me feel like part of a team without leaving my house, and still be affordable. That has been my dream. So Darebee.com makes my dream a reality. It does all that and more. I would highly, highly recommend this site to absolutely anyone.

BUT what I think is at least as great is the design and functionality of the website. It is just so clean and well organized. I love the filter functions, they work very well and you can find exactly what you need in seconds. Also the bookmark feature is just awesome! The way you can organize the bookmarks, create different collections and sort them so efficiently is very thoughtful and way better than I have seen it on many bigger platforms. I think it is just an example where one can see that the Darebee team not only strives to create the best workouts but for excellence on every level. Tank you! You are doing an awesome job!

After more than a decade, and after trying countless websites and apps, it's still my number one choice for workout plans and creative exercise inspiration. Unlike other apps and sites, the full experience is available regardless of ability to pay; even when the job market has been tough, Darebee has been there with accessible, effective workouts to help keep me on track when other obstacles crop up. Whether it's a full workout, or a little challenge to supplement other routines, Darebee has ALWAYS had me covered. The wide variety of skill levels available means that I can find something, even if injured, tired, or simply out of practice. Need to work on something specific? Pick a challenge for it. Injured? Rehab workouts and exercise alternatives abound. Not sure how to use all those dumbbells you somehow acquired over the years? No problem--you can find workouts with that equipment. In conclusion: Darebee is pretty rad; an awesome, effective resource, that anybody who needs a bit of sweat and strength in their lives can appreciate. Thanks to the Darebee team for their dedication, hard work, and commitment!
