DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Long before the Wild West idea of a duel became popular Samurai would meet each other, accompanied by their retainers, and battle it out to the death for reputation and honor. The fastest draw, in that situation, could sometimes win the duel. Samurai were adept at drawing the katana and cutting with the same motion and there is an entire system of Japanese swordplay devoted to perfecting the technique of the quick draw. The Quick Draw uses the draw to slash and quickly move forward to cut. Although the moves are performed on the spot in the demonstration video they can be performed as quick attack steps, the momentum of the step further adding to the ferocity and effectiveness of the cut. Use a bokken, a decorative katana (with a blunt edge) or a mop handle (if you will). Just stay clear of pets, kids, other humans and electrical appliances as you vanquish countless foes and gain immortality for yourself.
Extra Credit: 30 seconds rest between sets.
