DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Abs
Type: Burn
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Muffin Top is an obliques workout with exactly two ingredients and no patience for variety. Climbers and knee-to-elbow crunches alternate in blocks of ten, five times each - one hundred reps per set aimed squarely at the muscles that wrap around your waist.

The pairing works because both exercises attack the same region from opposite orientations. Climbers work the obliques as stabilizers: in a plank, every knee drive tries to twist and tilt your pelvis, and the muscles around your waist fire continuously to prevent it. Then you flip over, and the knee-to-elbow crunches make the same muscles the movers instead - actively rotating shoulder toward hip through a full contraction. Stabilize, then rotate, then back again, ten reps at a time. The constant switching between plank and floor also keeps your heart rate honest, adding a quiet cardio effect to what looks on paper like a pure ab session.

Keep your hips low and level through the climbers - the obliques only do their stabilizing job if your pelvis stays quiet while the legs drive. On the crunches, rotate your shoulder toward the opposite knee rather than yanking your elbow across, and keep the motion slow enough that momentum never takes over. Down, up, down, up - the transitions are part of the work, so keep them brisk.

Two exercises, one hundred reps, zero places for your waistline to hide.

Make it Harder: Speed up the climbers while keeping every crunch slow and full.

Make it Easier: Cut the sequence to three rounds of each exercise per set.

I appreciate the flexibility of levels and types of workouts and the amazing amount of content being offered for free. The amount and variety of content is overwhelming to start but the filters really help narrow everything down. And if I still can't make a decision, the monthly challenges and daily movements are a great start. One of my favorite features is the video exercise library. When I'm not sure how to do a movement or exercise correctly, it's easy to find and watch a quick tutorial. (The dashboard and ability to create sorted bookmarks of favorite workouts are also very helpful)

I have always wanted to find a place that would meet me at my level wherever I am, encourage me to stay motivated, fit in my busy schedule, not require a gym membership, offer variety, be fun, help me feel like part of a team without leaving my house, and still be affordable. That has been my dream. So Darebee.com makes my dream a reality. It does all that and more. I would highly, highly recommend this site to absolutely anyone.

Yes, the workouts are awesome and I like them very much. They are easy to understand and don't require much knowledge so you can simply start working out. BUT what I think is at least as great is the design and functionality of the website. It is just so clean and well organized. I love the filter functions, they work very well and you can find exactly what you need in seconds. Also the bookmark feature is just awesome! The way you can organize the bookmarks, create different collections and sort them so efficiently is very thoughtful and way better than I have seen it on many bigger platforms. I think it is just an example where one can see that the Darebee team not only strives to create the best workouts but for excellence on every level. Tank you! You are doing an awesome job!
