Teriyaki tofu tastes delicious and it’s very high in protein and Calcium. Serve it over rice or cauliflower rice for a low carb option.
You can use honey instead of molasses and cornstarch instead of arrowroot. Use garlic and ginger powders instead of fresh garlic and ginger to simplify on the prep. You can also blend all the ingredients, except tofu, in a food processor for even shorter prep time.
7oz (200g) firm tofu
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses or honey
1 tablespoon arrowroot or cornstarch
1 garlic clove
½ oz (15g) fresh ginger or 1 tsp ginger powder
½ cup water

1Cube tofu and set aside.
2Crush garlic and grate ginger if using fresh. Alternatively, you can use garlic powder and ginger powder.
3Combine ginger, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, molasses, cornstarch and ½ cup of water in a medium size saucepan.
4Place over low heat and stir using a whisk. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens. Add tofu and cook for another 2 minutes. Serve hot over rice or cauliflower rice.
