    Fenyes daily thread

    Hello everyone πŸ‘‹

    I always more or less ignored the hive, I don't have that good experiences with forums. But since I was informed on the Hive Discord Server that you all are a really supportive and active community and because I'm searching for some motivation, I decided to join you all here and write of my accomplishments and my failures. At least I'm gonna try it. (That was also the tl;dr)

    A little bit about myself:
    I'm currently 27 years old. Moved to southern Germany not long ago because of my husband's work. In our old town I had a lot of activ friends. We would meet up to play table tennis, badminton and go swimming, nearly daily. Of course the pandemic made it more difficult. But as soon as we were allowed to meet up again, we would.

    My ultimate goal - of course - is to feel good and healthy. And therefore I would like to loose weight. I was also a cubby one, always struggling with my weight. But after my marriage I gained 20kg in a year. Shame in me. I know. Now I'm on my path down again. Already lost ~10kg. πŸ’ͺ

    I know, I need to work on my body positivity. I remember a time were I finally reached 73kg (I'm 174cm high), but I still felt that I'm extremely fat, I was even disgusted by myself. This was due of an unhealthy environment. Looking back at the pictures from that time I now realize that I should have been happening and confident about myself.

    I more or less enjoy doing sport. At least I feel very happy and relaxed afterwards. Being proud of myself because I was active. But it's always really hard for me to motivate myself and to start. Even more now then there is nobody I can meet up with to workout together.

    So here I am. Trying out to write a more or less daily thread about my sporty life. Hoping it helps myself to get more motivated.

    This will be the start of my recordings.

    I want to do at least the Daily Dare and Daily Workout everyday... So I don't need to think about what I'm gonna do and can just start if I find some little motivation underneath the carept. πŸ˜‚

    I also would like to someday make every day 10k steps, vut that's a looot of steps to include in your daily life. We'll see how that works. Maybe I'll start with 5k as a regular goal and try to improve myself.

    So on tuesday I did the daily dare and the daily workout lvl 2.

    It felt great. I was kinda short tho, but I think that will be good for demotivated days then I don't want to do something additional like a workout or go swimming.

                I did the daily dare and the daily workout as planned. So my winning streak against my inner "Schweinehund" is now at 2.

                I additionally did the "one angry bird" workout (Level 3).

                And I was feeling so motivated and good after working out that I decided to walk to the grocery store, which is exactly 1.5km away. That helps a lot with my daily steps. I did 7500 steps over the whole day.

                  Did the daily dare and realised it doesn't say daily workout but workout of the day πŸ˜‚ okay, so I call it by it's actual name now.

                  I did the wotd furyborn (level 3) BUT I changed the burpees to line jumps after the second set. There are two reasons for that. Firstly... I HATE burpees... Secondly... my circulation is weak and I tend to black out if I change the position of my head ro often. I mean like going up and down with it really fast... Like you do in burpees. Describing it in an other languages than your mother language isn't that easy πŸ˜…
                  But except the burpees I had really fun doing the wotd. With every set I believe my punches got more "aggressive" especially the last 20 ones. πŸ‘Š

                  To compensate the burpees further I also did a plank until exhaustion. It lasted 1 minute and 10 seconds.

                  And than I decided to do something for my legs because I felt like it and did the workout peach.

                  I felt really great after working out. πŸ˜„

                  My husband started playing PokΓ©mon Go again πŸ˜… so we wanted to go on a pokΓ©-walk in the evening sadly it started raining really badly in the afternoon and didn't stop until I went to bed. But going on pokΓ©-walks will help greatly with my 5k steps a day goal.

                        Friday was a meeeeh day...
                        Felt the whole day demotivated and didn't want to do anything.

                        Persuaded myself to workout tho. Did the daily dare and the workout of the day guardsmen (Level 1). I found out that I'm not able to stretch my leg completely if it's lifted like in the second exercise. It wasn't even nearly stretched like that. Does that have to do something with flexibility? Do I need to improve my flexibility to do this exercise correctly?

                        Yesterday after doing the plank I decided it would be nice to be able to do planks for 2 mins and more. So I search for a plank challenge and (of course πŸ˜‚) found one. So I started today with the Plank 30 day challenge. Let's see how far I'll go. Today I only needed to do a 10 sec plank and a 20 sec elbow plank. On the 30th day there is a 4 minute plank plant πŸ˜…. I'm just going to surprise myself I guess.

                        After exercising I did a biiiig stretching session with lot of lying on the floor. πŸ˜‚ As said, generally demotivated.

                        I also only did 3k instead of 5k steps...

                          Re: guardsmen: Physiques are different, some people can never straighten their knee completely, regardless of their flexibility. Don't sweat it and just do your best. Maybe it comes with time and improved flex, maybe never. If you lift your leg straight up and do it as best as you can, you're doing it (probably) correctly.
                          And wow, if I were demotivated I probably would have done only one of those things you did.

                              lofivelcro you should have seen me after the workout... I was lying on the floor for half an hour doing nothing but trying to find motivation to stand up and shower πŸ˜…

                              The reason why I did so "much" is: if I start doing workouts and I'm not sweating after it, I feel really bad. Like... Why did I even do it? Why "struggle" if I'm not even sweating πŸ˜… it's strange... But a good workout means for me a lot of sweat πŸ˜…
                              About flexibility... I remember my PE teacher once wanted to show the class some stretching poses and took me as an example. She tried to push me into the stretching poses slowly and was confused why my hips didn't bend as much as she wanted them to. Then she started feeling my hip bones and just looked with pity at me telling me I will never be able to do this exercise because I have too feminine hips πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

                              Saturday was pen and paper time! For everyone who doesn't know what it is: it's like a rpg, but one person (gamemaster) made it up on himself and the rest is playing it through that gm. And you need to just imagine everything. It's really fun, believe me!

                              So we played nearly the whole day. Back when we all were studying and living in the same town and of course before corona we would meet up and cook together and sit from 10am to 2-3am (no joke) and play. Now everybody moved or/and got a job. So we're playing through Discord and not that long anymore, but still you could say the whole day.

                              Sooo I did my workout pretty early, at least for me.

                              Started again with the daily dare. Then moved on to the plank challenge. 20 secs plank and elbow plank each. As I did the 1 min 10 sec plank some days ago this short planks feel like nothing πŸ˜‚ but I'm afraid that this plank will get really hard really fast as I saw I'm supposed to do a 4 min plank in a month πŸ˜… haha we'll see about that...

                              What do you guys do if you fail a day of a challenge? Do you just redo it? Or if you miss a day, do you just do it the next day? I think I'm gonna start all over? Or would it be better to re-do the day until I get it done correctly?

                              Did the workout of the day Hello, abs! (Level 3). It was more like... Hello, plank exercises! But THEN I did an additional workout: 7 Minute Workout. I thought it looked like a nice all around workout which would get my heart beat up. But what is that last exercise? Ah yes... Plank again πŸ˜‚ one minute and to be honest, for the last few seconds I dropped to my knees. After all those abs exercises it was really hard holding the tension for the plank.

                              So yeah. Saturday was plank day πŸ˜‚

                              Due to sitting the rest of the day before my laptop and playing pnp of course I wasn't able to do 5k steps. Again.
