Steadfast as the Hills of Stone

This is my second thread and the beginning of my third year here in the Hive. In the past two years I worked diligently to make exercise a daily habit. Now that I can comfortably say that it's as much of a natural part of my life as, say, sleeping is, it's time to step onto the next part of my fitness journey: not falling off the track. The Hive is my main source of motivation, so staying in contact with all the lovely Bees here is essential.

As for tangible goals, I don't have them. Ok, that's not exactly true, you need to aim at something to be able to move forward, and there are some milestones I want to reach (I'm looking forward to my first official half-marathon, for instance), but these goals are really just tools to motivate me to keep going and I don't attach any significance to them beyond that. What I ultimately want is to lead an active lifestyle in whatever way that I find enjoyable.

But I really don't want to be too wordy here, so without further ado, here's today's log as a direct continuation of my previous thread, Utúlie'n aurë:

    April 22

    Late morning
    50 min run:
    -- 800 m warm-up
    -- 14x (400 m fast run [goal pace: 4:48-4:58], 1 min slow jog)
    -- 800 m cooldown

    Late afternoon
Day 7 of Foundation Light -- lvl III | no rest
Day 22 of Back & Arms -- no rest
    Day 25 of 1-Minute HIIT -- lvl III | 30 sec rest
    foam rolling
    (Σ: 23 min)

And here's Potyka stuck behind an armchair. Because a silly cat picture is what a new thread should start with, right?

                        Thank you all!

Mamatigerj the title is a quote from Tolkien and the character it refers to met a tragic end... but that should obviously be disregarded here.

CaptainCanuck A new beginning indeed, even though I'm not entire sure what exactly has begun.

Potyka looks disinterested but is secretly pleased by your compliments, Whirly, CODawn, PetiteSheWolf, FirstAgeDragonWolf , @Anek

AnnieW , Fremen Gandhalfit If he helps, it's completely unintentional.

                        April 23

                        Evening

66 plank rotations -- Day 23 of Back & Arms
                        Day 26 of 1-Minute HIIT -- lvl III | 30 sec rest
Day 8 of Foundation Light -- lvl III | no rest
                        (Σ: 26 min)

I'm pleased to start the new thread by reporting a "new" running achievement. My dormitory organised a virtual running competition in March where you could enter each one of your runs, and awards would be given out for the fastest 5k, the fastest 10k and the longest total distance covered. The results came a bit late, but it's now official: I won in all three categories (among women) I focused on the longest distance category (final result: 151.77 km) because it was always possibility that someone would sweep in on the last day and run a better 5k (25:42) or 10k (58:28) than I had during the month. But no one did, so I ended up with three titles.

                        Pictures from today's trail fun:
