Yeay ... only one day between workouts ...
I rang the bell for the weekend by doing High Gear Day 12 on level 3.
Today i could solve a tricky problem at work with a collegue. I'm very relieved that we finally found an explanation to some sporadic phenomenon. So the weekend is much sweeter
I'm more and more thinking about getting a smart trainer to use my bike indoors. I could well be the person who can be pulled in by some game/workout mixup.
Since this is not a real cheap investment i am also thinking about making it a reward for loosing x amount of weight in the next y weeks/months.
On the other hand, if i get it right now the additional working out would of course help with getting to some target goal.
Any thoughts about this? What would be your take on it? Carot on a stick or get it and go for spins ?

However, i wish you all a good plunge into the weekend!

          Read ya!

I would make a commitment to myself to use the new "investment" to achieve the desired goal

Fremen Yeah, probably the best out of both worlds. Basically get it, make the commitment and prove to oneself that it was a good "investment"

You might consider looking for a used one, to lower the cash outlay....

I would just buy it, though be warned ... judging by the state of my exercise room versus the rest of my house, that is my default choice

DorothyMH Good idea. But i'm afraid in this current lockdown situation it will be hard to find anything reasonable priced. To me it looks like the shops which have the product on stock charge a 100€ premium on top of the regular price. So to get something used at a reasonable price will be a very happy situation.

CaptainCanuck Good point. I'm absolutely not blessed with plenty of space. I mean for doing pullups i have to move my bed. I got the size of the smart trainer and it seems to fit with a remaining clearance of 1-2 cm into a empty section of my sleeping/workout room. But if i want it, there is a solution to the problem. In german there is a proverb like "Wo ein Wille, da ein Weg", translated pretty literally into english it would be "If there is a will/wish, there is a way". And thinking a bit more broadly.. we have a compartment in the cellar which is almost sized as another room. Only drawback is that is it stuffed with plenty old unused stuff. Plenty of things my daughter used to use/need, clothes etc. I need to get rid of this stuff, then i could probably build up my own home gym with all fancys i like. So in should tackle this. But i guess this should not hold me back to get a trainer in near time because i will find a way to fit it into the flat.

Oh yes, same saying in English, except it is "when there is a will, there is a way" or "where there is a will there is a way". Plus cleaning up the space is a workout in itself.

Well, always amazing how fast the weekend passes by....

Yesterday i did a walk/hike with my wife of about 6km.

Today i had the strong desire to workout and did
Epic Five Day 9 and Day 10(E)
Power Up Day 8 and Day 9.

For Power Up Day 8 i kept my arms up the whole workout. I was quite surprised. I was pretty sure that i could not hold up my arms for 4 minutes straight some time ago.
High Gear also brings some body reaction... my calves are always a bit sore after all those high knees.

I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Before i forget the workouts i did ...
Well, i have a been slacking w.r.t darebee workouts recently. Did High Gear Day 13, 14 since the last checkin.
But: i observed the offers for smart-trainers and found a good deal. Ordered the same day, got the trainer.
So since around a week i am mostly working out on my trainer with zwift. Really a lot of fun and i get a real good sweat in.

Yay for the smart trainer! Which model did you get?

sleep_twitch I got the Elite Direto XR

And now i also know how to change the cassette (trainer came preinstalled with 11 speed but my old bike has a 9 speed cassette)

Hey, another post from me since some time... yay

On the 21st i did a virtual ride of 26.2km (133m altitude diff), today 20.4km (328m altitude diff).
Today i also did Power Up Day 10 and 11.
Homeoffice and Lockdown feels a bit like the movie "Groundhog Day"... not much change between the days.
