I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you feel better soon

JCU Matan sleep_twitch Thank you all!

I’m feeling much better. I am still feeling a little under the weather, but I’m not in danger of falling asleep all the time. I ended up getting elderberry gummies to start taking.

My sister shocked us by coming over early (for her) and bringing my nephew with her. All the dogs were outside except for Fonzie, who was on the couch away from me. He got so happy when my nephew came in. When he sat beside me, Fonzie came running over to give love. He kept leaning back and looking at him like, “are you really here?” When the other dogs came in they went to my sister all happy then they all noticed my nephew at the same time. They got so excited and quite literally soggy piled on him.

Finally got some moss and completely finished one of the projects I was working on.

Also, does anyone have experience with air plants? I have two different tillandsias and the instructions that came with both weren’t very great. It basically said to just mist once a week, but I found conflicting information when I looked online.

My aunt’s memorial is going to be on Tuesday. I won’t be attending, for several reasons. I never met her before. I don’t particularly know my cousins that well, having met them only a few times and not really spending much time with them. As for being there for my uncle, all his sisters except one will be there, and I’m in the same position with him as with my cousins. Also, we got a new couch earlier this week, and Fonzie has an issue with change. He’s gotten over it pretty quickly, but with my mom and aunts being gone, he’s going to have a hard time. There’s no way I could add my absence to that since he’s attached to me. And, honestly, I don’t want to be in a car with my aunts for that long, let alone in the same house. Especially since my family is petty, and I’m sure that someone is going to say something they really shouldn’t. With the circumstances, I’d like to avoid that even more than usually, which I didn’t think was possible.

I am hoping to start stretching soon. I planned to start yesterday. It obviously didn’t happen. One step at a time. I’ll get there.

Also, book update. Kind of weird, since I shared my goodreads on here, but since I was sort of complaining about my book on my thread, I thought I’d give an update.

I did finish You Know Where to Find Me. It finally picked up speed for me. It wasn’t as bad as it seemed at first, but I was still disappointed. I expected a nice, heartwarming, tearjerker, given the subject matter. That wasn’t what I got. I did enjoy it, just not as much as other books. One thing that almost made me give up on it? [Trigger Warning]
The whole time, the main character was described as a fat girl with a belly that could make her pass as pregnant, and if I remember correctly, having fat rolls on her ankles. Later she said she was size 16 on a good day. Size 16. About the size of the average American woman. A size that translates to extra large in most clothing brands. Now, everyone’s bodies are different, and I have no problem with a “fat” main character. But this just seemed... overkill? Could her body actually look like that? Sure. Could this be the characters body image issues talking, since it was from her point of view? Absolutely. It just wasn’t something I expected and it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.

Before I Die was another book that’s been on my to read list forever, and it was closer to the heartfelt book I wanted. There were times when I as kind of frustrated with the characters, but I actually cried while reading the end of the book. Except I stopped crying at the actual ending because it was abrupt and I wasn’t expecting that. But it was a nice read.

And on the lighter side of my dusty to read list. Anatomy of a Boyfriend and it’s sequel Anatomy of a Single Girl. It’s chick-lit, and what my English teacher would call trash literature (though she likes trash literature also). They were a fun, quick read. I read all but 4 chapters of the first book yesterday, and read all of the second today. They were cute, funny, and mindless entertainment. The main character’s grandmother was so freaking inappropriate and funny at times, and the best friend’s rant post-breakup was hilarious. They were a bit more explicit than I thought they would be, which is kind of stupid, given the cover, and I read previews of the first chapter forever ago. I knew it was going to be a plot point. Didn’t expect all the language. . I now have a book hangover from reading it all today, and I’m tired.

An odd thing happened during Before I Die and Anatomy of a Boyfriend. I had a feeling during some parts that I read it before (and it wasn’t during the first chapter that I felt this way). I know I never read them before, but it’s still kind of weird to have that déjà vu (déjà lu?) feeling.

I entirely understand wanting to stay home with Fonzie (honestly, even without him). So much better for your mental health!

Thanks for your book reviews! And congrats on finishing them!

I've had parts of books that I swore I'd read before. Just the flow of certain paragraphs can have me taking a moment and remembering that no, this is a new book!

Best of luck on your stretching!

                              Duolingo: PeaceLoveNirvana

I wanted to start over Monday, but I got some stomach issues. Took it easy on Tuesday, and meant to start on Wednesday. Mom and aunts came home from their memorial trip an hour earlier than expected and since I started dinner late, I didn’t do anything else. My planned stretching challenge probably won’t start until at least Saturday. But I did do some light stretching!

On top of stomach issues and feeling sick, my shoulder was so sore. I finally got it to pop which helped a lot. I think all of it was due to stress.

Picked up some hummus on a whim. It had three different flavors: dark chocolate, pumpkin pie, and salted caramel. So good! I’ve had a chocolate one before in a different brand that I loved. This is my first time testing sweet hummus other than chocolate.

I finally watched Bohemian Rhapsody! Despite the inaccuracies, this was good.

Welcome back! I've missed reading your posts!

Very sorry about your body issues.

I've been meaning to try sweet hummus for a while, and your opinion has finally convinced me! Thanks!
