    Rehab

    Took the kids through a couple of blocks of HIIT.

    I'm pretty comfortable with wall push ups but am trying not to let full support moves get me down. 20s blocks of climbers were really hard today and push ups and certainly burpees are beyond me.
    Oh well, from little things big things grow and all that.

      Rehab

      Have decided that yoga will save us all during this phase.
      Had a fun play with tempo during my flows today. Ran through slow then next was fast x5ish sets (where 1 set is 1 slow + 1 fast). Had to rejig one flow because transitioning quickly between camel and plow gave me a splinter in my foot (dangers of yoga w/o a mat on unfinished surfaces)

          The problem with problems that are invisible is that you get lots of advice that amounts to "you're just not trying hard enough!"

          Anyhow, migraines wreaking havoc today. Only got through 1 session of rehab. Feel a drag through a variety of medically overqualified folk in my future.

              The strangling emoji is spot on TopNotch , all about finding the sweet spot before pushing so hard I send myself into a festival of migraines. Sadly that spot is not consistent.

              My shoulder was cramping a bit...reminding me to tick my boxes!

              Continuing the slow/ fast yoga thing today and went for a short jog.

                Spent longer than intended fine tuning different flows to fit the slow fast format. I even have a 'can't be bothered' one to bribe myself when standing up looks like an achievement.

                I dragged the kids through some HIIT "how about a workout with no lunges!" It had jump-ins, planks, twist squats, star jumps and high knees...and there was joy throughout the land "next time can we just do the footwork drills?" Who says the pay-off from exercise can't be instantaneous?!?

                    Have been splitting the kids' workouts so I can work on their individual sell point, taking 1 through punching and kicking work while the other is on footwork then swap DorothyMH. My daughter is getting solid at keeping her guard up and maintaining distance. My son is still obsessed with kicks but hates the ground work for them...
                    It's migraine central here so I've been doing sessions of rehab blocked with yoga and jits based ball games.
                    I'm minimising the time I spend on screens until shit stabilises a bit.

                            Hi DorothyMH, yeah the kids are still getting put through their paces one way or another
                            My migraines are still going crazy so we've mostly been working on spongy knees focused footwork- all about keeping everything smooth
                            We've got a policy now where every time someone makes a mistakes they need to do crunches, push ups or burpees. The kids have even started policing themselves! My daughter just dropped today a churned out 10 burpees because she let her guard drop. The system works

                                Io6 Glad you're feeling better. I thought of you with April's challenge. Your kids do burpees (*gasp*) voluntarily?! Here, we consider "burpee" to be a swear word!
