Hello everyone! I have been on a fitness journey for a little over a year now. I have psoriatic arthritis that affects my lower spine and hips. A year ago my doctor told me that if I could lose some weight and/or build some muscle, I could put off hip replacement surgery by a few decades and apparently that was the motivation that I needed to get started. I used to be very fit but got sick and went 16 years before I got a proper diagnosis and some treatment for my chronic pain and fatigue. In 2018, I joined Weight Watchers through work and lost 50 lbs. just by tuning up my diet, but I still have 20-30 lbs. to go and muscle to build, so now I need to increase my activity beyond yoga, walking, and swimming. Today I did Day 1 of The Foundation and got in my 10,000 steps according to my Fitbit. I'm taking on the 30 Days of Fitness Challenge, the 30-Day Walkabout Challenge, and the First Thing Water Challenge to keep myself motivated.

Completed Day 2 of The Foundation, The Daily Dare (with extra credit), completed all three challenges that I took on, and contributed 250 meters to help the lovelorn penguins. I'm 1,000 steps away from my daily 10,000, but I still have a few things to do around the house and one more walk with the dog before bed, so I'm pretty sure I'll hit it. Thank you _unmother and TheLibrarian for saying hello.

Day 3 of this madness. 200m for the penguins, 12,000 steps and it's still early, Daily Dare (no extra credit today, two sets of 20 with a 30 sec break between), Day 3 of The Foundation, and all three challenges met.

Day 4: 100 punches for penguin love, 11,000 steps so far, Day 4 of The Foundation, met all three challenges. Today is an autoimmune flare day and I took it slow in my workout because I'm in a lot of pain; it's time to rest and hydrate now.

Day 5: +205 for the penguins, met all three challenges. Daily Dare with Extra Credit, 8,746 of my 10k steps so far and it's only early afternoon so I'll get there, Day 5 of The Foundation, and did today's workout (The Stakeout) because I wasn't done moving yet. Still having an autoimmune flare but moving felt good today, now it's time to rest and rehydrate.
