    DorothyMH that's exactly the goal, not biting off more than I'll be able to chew. I was just about to start a new challenge, but I'm stopping myself in order to give full attention to my other challenges.

    I hear ya on the challenges: taking too many on because “it’s all easy” in the beginning. Boy, do they pile up as the month goes along. It can get pretty demoralizing by the 3rd quarter of the month, when you have SO many reps to do, and just not enough time.
    Your new plan sounds like you are falling into a more “organic” routine that both works, *and* makes you feel good. So important!

    DorothyMH yep still pretty sore from a couple days ago, less so after today's workout. Hopefully I'll get used to it quicker this time haha.

    I had the original version of Mass Blast pulled up with the old system for the DareBee HIIT workouts (5/10/15 set range, 1 minute rest) but then saw the updates and the reasons behind them. So I did Level 3 on the new format (7 sets) but did only 1 minute rest between sets, which meant a good cardio workout without being too strenuous from a strength perspective.

    It feels really good to get back to the Buff Dudes Dumbbell Plan. I might be going a little light on weights, only because I want to make sure I'm being smart about my lifts, but I'll also kick it up more quickly if I feel comfortable with it. I've done the first half of this program already then had to stop due to my schedule changing, but at least I'm familiar with the exercises themselves and can jump back into them easier this time around.

    I also feel better about my overall conditioning with this round. I've tried to do more walking/exercising over the past few months, as opposed to my lack of a routine over the summer (did plenty of heavy yardwork, but skipped exercising altogether as a result). This year, my goal was to not bite off more than I can chew, which I have done in the past. I've tackled too many DareBee challenges at once, and as the reps increase across the board it takes a lot more time to complete them, so I'd get worn out & give up faster. Now, I'm limiting my extras while still doing something first thing in the morning (I like the wakeup call), focusing my effort on the main program, and also doing more cardio than in the past. I love getting out & walking/jogging first thing in the morning, and since it can get pretty frigid some of these January mornings that's a perfect excuse to run back through the standalone DareBee workouts - I've saved them all from the very beginning, and would love to go through them all in release order someday.

    Whew, that was kinda long-winded, but it helps me solidify my reasoning & goals. Further up and further in!
