    A Tale of a Valkyrie

    Thought I would give this check-in thread thing a try. I do better when I can share my triumphs and failures with people. I am currently at 98 days in a row, counting today.

    She looks out over the wasteland of Pandora, and all the quests yet to be undertaken. Today, she started with hunting in the Unnamed Forest, scooping up some shraams for 50 squats and ratsan for 60 push-ups . Hearing the call of the story, she made the long way around to the Resistance Camp. On the way, she stopped at the Mountain Cave to hide a message with 50 army crawls. Upon reaching the Resistance Camp, she then traveled to the mines for a level 2 workout of 50 push-ups, 200 overhead punches, 10 jump squats, and 100 front kicks. In total, she traveled 480 high knees over the Pandora wasteland. In other news, my wings are still missing.

      Today, she started with heading to the Mountain Cave, to find the papers that may be there, only to be captured by a Dreamer Priest! To escape, she completed a level 3 workout of 28 calf raises, 28 back stretches, 140 side leg raises, 140 half-jacks, 28 side-to-side hops, and 140 butt kicks all with her hands tied behind her back! She then ran off back down the mountain, all the way to Camp Raza, the mystery of this crazy Priest nagging at her. She pushed it aside and made her delivery of a present with 250 side-to-side hops and then performed 300 jumping jacks in her quest to make another delivery. She sits down wearily in a shadowy corner as the sun sets. "Tomorrow, that delivery will be finished tomorrow," She said as sleep claimed her. She traveled 380 high knees today over the Pandora wasteland.

          Gee Thanks, I have been lurking for a while and have finally decided that I wanted to be more than just a lurker.

          She faces the day, returning to the arduous task of delivering that package, performing 700 jumping jacks in the process and completing the delivery. From there, she traveled south 100 high knees until she reached the Fisherman's Village, where she made a bait delivery with 200 straight leg bounds. She is starting to feel a little tired, but wants to have one more adventure before dropping off quests at the Agoras and calling it a night. She dashes over to the Unnamed Forest, traveling 180 high knees to get there. Upon arriving there, she immediately encountered a chickensa, which she dispatched with slow and methodical squat-backfist combos, 100 in total. She runs south to Agora Canis for 170 high knees, giving her camp a longing look as she passed it. She turned in her quests and sold the food, then headed west for 220 high knees to Agora Equos to turn in the quests there as well. She sighed and set off back east, heading east for 290 high knees just so that she could rest at her camp for the night. She stretches out and then settles in, thinking about how she will need to reinforce her camp tomorrow.

          Today marked day 100 in a row and I also started the 30 day Yoga challenge today. Day one complete.

                Completed Day 2 Yoga challenge and DD #1 (no ec, I put my legs down )

                She wakes up and stretches, feeling the aches from the day before. She starts by stretching them out before getting to work reinforcing her camp, completing a level 3 workout of 100 push-ups, 100 backfists, 100 lawnmowers, 100 squat-hold punches, and 100 overhead punches in the process. Feeling pretty good and proud of how her camp is looking, she sets off at sunset to the Dreamer's Temple. (Because checking out creepy places under the cover of darkness is a "great" idea...) She arrives there 160 high knees later and is surprised at the number of people milling about amongst the remains of human bones. It looks like some sort of sick ritual site is situated in the center and they are preparing to sacrifice a young woman. Unarmed as she is, even if she fights back against that scorpion, she will not be going to Valhalla. She cannot accept such needless sacrifice, and steps in. They get away with a level 1 workout of 50 high knees, 20 jumping lunges, 50 palm strikes, and 50 basic burpees with a jump. (Burpees are my least favorite workout. ) Alana tells our Valkyrie her story and Alana offers to help her with obtaining the papers. The Valkyrie agrees, but they take a brief rest before attempting their crazy plan.

                Stopping here for today, I have fencing practice in the evening.

                    Completed Yoga Day #3, and the DD for July 12th. I had done the one for today yesterday because I forgot to read the date. But I did it with EC! So, I'm at 2 DD, 1 EC.

                    Now, the two of them set back off for the Dreamer's Temple, where the Valkyrie successfully infiltrated it with a level 2 effort of 100 bounces, 100 bounce-bounce-squat combos, 50 bounce-bounce-jumping jack combos, and 50 bounce-bounce-split jack combos. She decides to invite Alana to stay with her in her camp, feeling a connection to the troubled young woman. On her way back to camp, she passed by the Dreamer's Pits and decided to stop and dispatch a few more scorpions, traveling 20 high knees to get there. She had been here before, when she was first introduced to Pandora, in an effort to earn some more scraps. But today, she has stopped here to eliminate scorpions; the scraps are merely a nice accessory. She dispatched the Warrior Scorpion with 500 knife-hand strike and knee strike combos.

                      Completed Yoga Challenge Day #4 and the DD for today with EC! 3DD, 2EC.

                      The Valkyrie could feel the toll of the past few days in the soreness of her feet and ankles. She decides that it is better to take a moment to stretch and ready herself for the next stretch of Scorpion disposal than to rush ahead and risk injury. She starts with the Slow Burn workout: 30 arm raises, 30 step jacks, 30 chest extensions, 30 step chest extensions, 30 bicep extensions, 30 step bicep extensions, and 180 side leg raises in total. Then she did a number of stretches, using the Part 2 and Better Sleep Yoga workouts. She feels confident that she'll be primed and ready to finish fighting the scorpions tomorrow!

                        Completed Yoga Challenge Day #5 and the DD for today with EC, bringing me up to 4DD and 3EC.
                        Didn't sleep well last night, so I'm feeling a bit lethargic today. But, I'm here and I'm doing my best... So, hooray for working out. I'm taking my time with my moves today and I think that is okay.

                        She looks at the options remaining, wishing that she had saved the Queen Scorpion for today. She sighs and selects the Poison Scorpion and dispatched it with well-placed elbow strikes and front snap kick combos, 300 in total. She finishes the fight with some extensive stretching, hoping to shake out the cobwebs clouding her mind and reenergize herself for the next fight.

                          Another day, another battle. Today, I have completed Yoga Day #6 and the DD with EC, bringing the total up to 5DD and 4EC.

                          Next fight: the King Scorpion. I squared off against it and quickly determined the appropriate combination. 200 jump knee tucks, jab, and crosses later and the King Scorpion was no more. I could hear the mutterings of the small audience, they had wanted me to die at the leisure of this creature. The remaining two scorpions approached and my sense of self-preservation kicked in. I left the Pits; I could return at any time to finish off those scorpions. For now, I ran off to my camp, stopping briefly at Agora Canis for my hard earned fishing rod, traveling 240 high knees to get here. Upon reaching my camp, I felt compelled to reinforce my camp with a Level 3 workout of 120 push-ups, 100 arm scissors, 100 side arm raises, 5 20-count front raised arm hold, and 5 20-count side raised arm hold. I fell into a peaceful slumber as the sun set before me.

                            I'm now at 6 DD and 5 EC. Although, punching for 3 minutes straight was rough. Completed Yoga Day #7.

                            She awoke to find that her supplies had been raided quite liberally by Alana. She had invited her here, but she didn't plan on Alana eating everything in site. She gave Alana the talk about how she needed to pull her weight and help out if she wants to continue being fed. The Valkyrie took off for Agora traveling 130 high knees to get there. She picked up three new notices off the board and took off, traveling 310 high knees to reach Camp Mira. She performed 100 calf raises as she made the fish delivery. She then took off for Bunker #7, taking 90 high knees in travel. She carved a lion statue with 500 knife hand strikes. Then she undertook the task to complete the urgent delivery that she had picked up from Agora Equos a couple of days ago, taking 1000 high knees to do so. She felt a little guilty for delaying the delivery, but she pushed it aside as she read the next task that she had for Bunker #7: build a moat. It was a rough build, taking 500 squats to complete the build. She smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment as she took off, running 100 high knees to travel to Agora Equos, where she turned in completed tasks. She then took off in a northerly direction, towards the mines, but stopped over at the fishing pier (220 high knees) to try out her new fishing rod. The fish weren't biting so all she caught was an arwag with 50 flutter kicks. She finished the run to the mines with a further 180 high knees. One more job, then she would rest. She performed 800 overhead punches, collecting the 100 baby stoneworms. Disgusted by the large quantity of the ugly worms, she ran back to Agora Canis for 320 high knees. She delivered the quests and sold the fish, collecting the supplies that ner camp needed. She noticed the new notice on the board, calling for fighters and vowed to look into it tomorrow. She ran the extra 130 high knees so that she could sleep in her camp.

                              DD... done! With EC... yes! Yoga challenge... oh yeah, 8/30!

                              I pulled myself out of my sleeping bag, tired and sore. I contemplated extra reinforcing my camp, but settled on traveling to the City Pits. I have a man named Dicer to find. I traveled 280 high knees to get there (and what a hard set of high knees those were!) and I quickly found him... in trouble. I sighed and intervened, deciding to undertake the 5-minutes non-stop jab cross fight to settle Dicer's debt. We will be leaving for the mountain pits tomorrow.

                              I am horribly short on time today, or I would make the run there. More tomorrow!
