      So I seem to be more stressed out about this changeover then I care to admit to myself, as evidenced by nachos and mojitos for dinner twice in a row....yesterday being 2 mojitos AND an ice cream after >.> Also some late night shopping /sigh

      I retooled my "remedial" lifting day. Wanted to smush it into 1 day, and added a few machine 'lifts' for things that I think my form was iffy on w dumbells/things that I think could benefit from some more isolation. Will do this once a week w this cycle of Nia and see how it goes.

      Remedial Lifts Day (1)
      Scapula pulls
      3/5 (w some elbow bending at top)
      Upper body builder - 5lbs, no rests, warmup
      Zottman curls
      3x15x8 - could not find 17.5 so upped reps. May try 20lbs/3-5 rep next time
      Lateral Raise

      Overhead punch
      3x15x5 - before I was alternating these... this time i did 5 one arm/5 the other

      Some time under tension bc ppl were in the way of the rack, so stood there w the 50s for abt 2 mins till they fkn moved

      Came home, downgraded it from 'shameful disaster' to 'these ppl are a bit messy'. Going to head into the city and do some biking and bridge walking bc it is lovely out and my husband thoughtfully got me a hat that says it is spf 50 so I am less likely to become a lobster.

            Same thing. If it's run by a toddler than it's going to look like it's been run over by a toddler. This is the case in my house and this is why I find strange things in strange places. Like finding socks in the freezer. And boots in the broiler....

                  Today was a strange day. I was all gung ho to get my workout in early bc I wanted to go on an epic hike! Weather was sposed to be perfect (high 60s, clear), and I certainly had reserves to draw on w yesterday's dinner shenanigains.

                  But meh. Idk if it's bc my body rebelled at the idea of doing that much more work (even low impact) after lifting, or just bc by the time I got into the city it was noon so it felt really late to get started... but when there was a tiny bit of rain (annoying drizzle on and off... would just get dried off and it would restart) I did not have the mental fortitude to soldier on through it. So I ended up w just shy of 12 miles by the time I got home, no bridges crossed, abt 5 miles on a bike (which was part of the annoyance... somehow the 2 that were in the bike dock that I wanted to use were unavailable somehow or their docks were glitched so I couldn't get them... so I had to take one from a stupid dock where I had to walk it a bunch, and ended up walking it down flights of stairs, before I could start riding (otherwise I would of been in the street and just... no, not w out a helmet. I stay greenway bike lanes and park in the morning and a few quiet streets in brooklyn and that's it.)).

                  So that the day was not a total loss I hit up my favorite bookstore (Strand) which I've been meaning to do for weeks (and found a new-to-me LeGuin collection), and got (too much) mac and cheese at a place I forgot was super near union square (or that has recently expanded to there, there seems to be a few of them now) that is fkn awesome so I don't feel like I went into the city for no reason but.....

                  If I am not going to get this eating in check (which it seems I am not) I need to fucking get some more cardio somehow.. and walking seems to be the only cardio I really tolerate so.......... I need to figure out how best to get my act together. If the weather holds I am going to need to be in a fucking bathing suit in 10 days and idk if my current suit bottoms fit atm and I am not fucking buying more.

                    I am looking forward to back and core program but need to be careful... if it is even as 'large' as total abs I will get myself into trouble (ie - I am not overtraining but I do seem to keep falling into training strength endurance instead of strength) if I start doing it along w my lifting (just time wise, even, idk what my new schedule will look like). Maybe instead of picking up some challenges next month I will add do it only on non-lifting days. Maybe after this 6 week cycle I do a maint month, strength wise, and do this program then.

                      I think (= I hope) it wont take more than 10/15min daily or so, since it's (supposed) an add-on. Having already "Totals Abs", I guess that the partt of abs (as add-on program) it's covered. Maybe there will be planks every two days or so ...let's see!

                        Idk what was up this morning but Deadlifts felt off so I was careful/backed off. Also, for this round I am repping barbell press w dumbells bc something that I am doing on bar press annoys my lower back (which is usually never bitchy) and doing them seated so I cannot do push presses bc I cheat. Walking lunges which I had just dropped anyway are going to be abb/add machines. Also more rows/scap pulls and less assist machine to try to work sideways around my plateau there.

                                My glasses were aparently stronger than necessary... I guess my vision is improving w age. Fuck tho..these new ones make the world look like it is sloping away from me. Eye dr warned me I may hate them first few days, tho, so am toughing it out. Got 2 pair, 1 a new style for my next adventure, 1 sort of close to old frames. I love how changing glasses can be a total reinvention. (Do not get me started on the trope where the girl is only pretty when she gets rid of glasses...fuck that noise.)
