Tough situation...crazy how our animals tend to commiserate with us. Hope that kitty gets a good prognosis and all you can do is keep her happy & loved. You gotta take care of yourself because if you don't, your kitty will not have someone to care for her. I lost my senior dog last summer - he was 12, almost 13. We went through thyroid issues, weight issues, doggie arthritis, and doggie glaucoma. I had to finally put him down as he was wasting away from the inside out trying to hold on for me...loved that dog! Sending good vibes to both of you

I still miss my Joplin whom I lost to a dumb vet.

Basal cell carcinoma is really what you wrote on your Instagram story -- if you're gonna have cancer, then please let it be that one, since it mostly doesn't metastasize. Still, I understand the anxiety around it (I was freaking out when I had a pre stage cervical cancer scare). Tons of hugs for you (and also for Shadow, of course)!

Thanks daejamurrachan and CODawn. I lost streak again but, had a few good days at work (which I really fucking needed) including a hilarious moment when some customer noticed what I had failed to (that bc of blood clot on one leg and vein treatment on other my legs are totally black and blue (hilarious visual pun w my nice dress and girly shoes today)) and was like "what did you DO to yourself?"... I just glibly replied "You should see the other guy" and he was too busy laughing to press the issue.

I am sort of in the mode I get into when my plane hits bad turbulence. I've done everything I can do (seatbelt on etc) so no sence worrying. My worry can't change the outcome. May as well read my book.

Shadowcat is... purring and snuggling and playing...but she puked this morning despite being on anti emetics (which is a syringe med, which is not fun). Vet said to come back in 4-5 weeks but I may ask him if I can have some steroids for her if she doesn't perk up in a week or so of re-re-adjusted thyroid meds. Tonight she wanted all of 2 bites of her canned food then sat on couch and cried until I fed her something else (ham baby food mixed w kitten formula). Idk how much of that behavior is that she's sick and how much is that she is spoiled.

Hard to know the difference in our kitties, sometimes ... Luna sends her purrs that mean, "don't be too much of a spoiled kitty and eat what you can, Shadowcat!" Hugs.
And ROFLOL at your reply to the customer!

Seriously PetiteSheWolf. She OBVIOUSLY prefers ham baby food spoonfed on couch to cat food eaten from bowl in kitchen...so now she has a few licks of gravy from her "breakfast" and sits on couch howling if I am slow making my coffee and comming to feed her. >.> I forsee a miserable few weeks of cat retraining once I get her well again.

Last week was 29.6 miles. Bah!
at/over 200 on drs scale at gym. Did not investigate further when I had to move it to that setting. Fuck. Not surprising, tho, I have been eating a lot.

Leg is bruised and a bit swollen from vein therapy. Check my insta story if not squeamish.

                          Jacked - 15s for lunge/curls and bent rows, 10s for other 2

And now to chores, my apt is a total disaster and my youngest brother is visiting this weekend (and he inherited my step mom's neat freak nature) so I feel the need to get things a bit clearer then they currently are.

I never let them weigh me at the doctor. I will weigh myself in the morning without clothes and give them that weight...lol

'rin what you are dealing with sucks. positive note: you are going into it knowing what is wrong and with a team of doctors who are on-board to help you take care of the problem. all of that gets you healed sooner. it doesn't make the day-to-day less sucky but there is a goal-line and you can get there from here.

makes me wonder: does everybody hit a physical kinda wall like this in their 40's? mine was my back at 42. and i spent 2 years trying to find a doctor who didn't say: "i'm not saying it is in your head but where is your head?"

oh! and one other piece of advise: after you get your leg healed, don't break you ankle. that sucked too.

daejamurrachan, I had weird shit happen in my 30s too. I am almost 50 and last year it was a resorbed tooth and skin issues (which have continued into this year). Plus I feel like I have tons of hair falling out but my stylist insists that it's not getting any thinner.
