Thanks guys! Our next step is to plan when and how to do the surgery.

I'm not sure about HJ. There's some things I like about it, but in some ways I feel like I'm in over my head. I felt like I was just flopping on the ground when I was doing the supermans yesterday. I'm going to try to keep going, even though I seriously thought about abandoning it and trying a different one like Athena or Fighter's Codex.

Supermans are not my strongest or most graceful exercise either.

I'm glad I'm not alone in that, haha.

I didn't really get a chance to work out yesterday. I did 10 squats and 10 jumping jacks when I was at work to loosen up a bit and not be in a chair all day, but that was about it. I'll try and get one in when I get home from class tonight.

I feel like a plonker doing Supermans (Supermen?) too!

Stick with HJ if you can, I really do feel that there has been a benefit from it in a cumulative sense in terms of my perseverance and approach to exercise. You can always go onto something else once you've completed but it will be worth so much to show yourself that one way or another you managed to get through. However, it may not be the right thing for you and obviously only you can tell.

I've found some of the magic ring days to be quite hard, if you're not enjoying the weapons days then maybe change that instead of the whole thing?

So, I haven't really worked out at all in the last 2 weeks. I'm definitely going to give up the Wall-Sit, since that one really needs to build. I'm not quite sure what to do about HJ, though. I'm leaning towards dropping it and trying a different one. If I do, I'm between Fighter's Codex and Athena's Playbook. Anyone else have any thoughts on the matter?

All I know is that I really liked Fighter's Codex, so that's something to look into.
It's always a good thing to choose something you find fun and enjoyable,
that way it's easier to stick to in the long run. Good luck. We're cheering you on!

So, my husband's surgery was this past Thursday and it was very successful. He's having a bit of a rough go yesterday and today, though, while recovering. As such, I've been too busy to even do a daily dare or something. I'm hoping to try and get back on the wagon tomorrow. I think I'm going to go with Athena's Playbook, starting tomorrow, and maybe the monthly challenge depending on what it is.

So, I meant to start Athena's Playbook tonight, but I got distracted by other things, so that didn't happen. I did start the Ninja challenge though, so there's that! I also started the Modern Hero diet at lunch. I made macaroni with broccoli and cheese for lunch, and then I made a salad with no dressing for my supper. I had to find something quick at school and that seemed like the healthiest option. The only extra ingredient I added to my lunch was a little butter to help make the cheese stick better. I'm starving now, but I've been good and not made any snacks.

That's great you stuck to the Modern Hero and got the Ninja done

I struggle with distractions at times too, something that helps me occasionally is to intend a set time for something and give it the same level of respect of meeting someone/being somewhere. So tomorrow, at whenever O'clock you can do your day for Athena and you'll find other things will fill fit around it. Once you establish a habit this will become automatic, so play with routine to make it easier.
                          You've got this.

Ok, so decision made: I'm not going to do a program for now. I'm going to focus on completing the Ninja challenge on time instead. I just don't have the time or the energy to do a full program right now. I think I'd rather build up both physically and habitually with doing a short challenge instead. So far, I've kept up with the Ninja challenge. I hope to keep that streak going. I figure I can always squeeze in a 30-second workout at some point, so that'll make it easier. I'm also going to try and do the daily dares more regularly, so I'll record those here in addition to the main daily dare thread.

Update on my husband: he's still in the hospital. We're hoping that he'll finally be able to come home today, but we'll see. I'm trying to keep positive about the whole thing. Today marks a full week at the hospital, though.

Today was Day 4 of the Ninja (30s wall-sit). I completed it this morning while at work. I find that I have difficulty with where I'm putting pressure in my feet when I do those. I tend to put the pressure on the ball of my foot, instead of down through my heel. I'm guessing I should be doing it through my heel, so that's something I need to focus better on.

The daily dare was 2 minutes of elbow clicks. I kept a pretty good pace up, but I had to take a couple breaks in there. Definitely not used to doing that.

Alright, managed to find some time to workout today. Had to run some errands and then I have a political event to go to tonight that I almost forgot about. But, regardless, I did manage to complete both Ninja and the Daily Dare. Did Ninja this morning and Daily Dare (30 single-leg deadlifts) this afternoon. My hamstrings are normally super tight, so I can definitely feel the Daily Dare more than I can Ninja. Plus, I've never done single-leg lifts before. I did 15 per leg, which I'm assuming I was supposed to do. Ninja was still a bit more challenging than I expected to be. I've done up-and-down planks before, but not quickly for 30 seconds like that. I had to really push it towards the end there, but I finished

                              Exercise Streak: 5 days

Worked out this morning. My legs are still kind of sore from the single-leg lifts (I wasn't kidding about my hamstrings). The balance hold for Ninja wasn't too bad, though. The 50 modified scissors for the Daily Dare were a little more difficult. I had to take a short break after 30. Still, moving forward!
