      Ooh, cool that you're starting belly dancing! My cousin has don't that I think 25 years ago, I remember her doing a show on her mother's 50th birthday

        CaptainCanuck I think it’s those connotations that can make anyone feel self-conscious about it (me included). There’s a lot of good reasons to try it, but it still feels weird because of those connotations.

            She does have videos for under-50s as well.
            Oh after the trainer had said that she is 51, I thought, ok, fitness-wise this woman obviously has done everything right. Therefore the 50+ videos are fine for me

                Congrats on starting belly dance! I do a class at a studio (when that is allowed) and I'm consistently the youngest one in my class at 28, so there's a whole community out there starting later in life and loving it!

                  There were no instructions for this, but i surmised that i was meant to do 20 reps each of the 7 exercises shown, which i did with no rests, substituting step jacks for regular, 20-count plank hold for plank w/arm lifts, and reverse lunges for regular.

                    Allergies kicked up last night, and i didn't get to bed until after 230. I didn't roll out of bed until 735; i had to leave at 750, so no morning workout.

                                DorothyMH, (You know i love my naps!) JCU, Whirly, and SheWhoMustNotBeNamed, thank you! I take the 24-hour antihistamines almost year round, but every once in a while i have a breakthrough bad day or two and have to double up on the meds. I am much better now.
