Thank you TheLibrarian NancyTree Io6 Gandhalfit !
Merci PetiteSheWolf ! Un jour je serai bilingue comme tant de nos merveilleuses Abeilles.

Yes, NancyTree . My mother actually did 150 squats on the first day she started working towards her ornament! It takes us over an hour to complete our workouts these days (45-55 minutes of actual working time, plus toilette breaks, phone breaks, puppies wanting attention breaks, moving equipment around breaks, and breaks for me to demo exercises. So we start with 50 squats and then do some other things and then do more squats later. We have been working on squats a lot since we started working out together back in March.

Io6 my mother claimed her sapphire yesterday and it is already on the tree! (I haven't commented on her post yet since I am still working towards my topaz and didn't want to confuse the Tree elves. I've done the 400 squats as well, of course. But I want a different ornament on the tree.)

I hope your dad can come home soon and recovers well. That's impressive that your mother's earned a tree ornament, that's a wonderful symbol of what you've achieved together this year

                              * On this night I had the wonderful pleasure of "attending" a concert, Boreal’s "Songs for a Snowy Season" with my mother, from the comfort and safety of our own living room.

Katherine Wheatley and Tannis Slimmon (2/3 of Boreal) are musicians I have known and loved for many years. The newest member of the trio, Angie Nussey, I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, since I have not been to an in-person Boreal show since Angie joined the band. (Boreal is a wintertime band. I live in the Booming Metropolis of nowhere and have insufficient financial resources to stay in hotels. Attending a Boreal show for me, would usually require a long drive home afterward. Late at night, on winter roads--especially the unlit country roads with soft shoulders, deep ditches, drivers who fail to dim their highbeams, cyclists with no lights at all, deer and other animals, I would have to face at the end of my journey--that drive is not something I have the stomach for anymore.)

This year, due to Covid-19, Boreal was not able to do their usual tour. However, the River Run Centre--a Guelph, Ontario venue which normally hosts a Boreal show each winter--still mounted a full production Boreal concert on the RRC stage, complete with everything but the crowd, and livestreamed the performance for all to see and hear. I was so happy to be able to attend a Boreal concert once again!

After cuing up the video, I settled into a nice comfy armchair with a large steaming cup of peppermint spice tea to enjoy. Of course, this situation did not last for long. I was soon up on my feet dancing. Because my mother wanted to watch the concert with me, we were watching in the largest room in our house, which has plenty of space in which to dance (as opposed to my private room which has only a tiny little dance floor). And because I was at home, I was dancing barefoot. I closed my eyes and felt like I was dancing under the warmth of the sun at a summertime music festival.

After the show was over, all I had to do was turn off the computer, walk into the next room, and go to bed. No white-knuckled midnight driving necessary.

If you're up for some wintertime cheer of a Canadian folk music flavour, I highly recommend this concert, which you can still view online for free (but only until the end of the day on Monday in my time zone, 5AM December 15 DAREBEE/UTC time).
