Glad that you are joining in bee927589452 - always listen to your missus - your better half my friend!

and drinking before and after office is good and plays with the rules - because the name of the challenge is: "no-coffee-in-office-challenge". In my case that drops the coffee consum drasticly, probably to 2 cups a day (morning and afternoon) and not like, well, you proably know the numbers or can guess

Atomic Knight - Round 11: Pull & Squat

      ______________________________

      Comments:

Superset with 1min Rest between sets - in total: 20 sets!

      Pull-Ups (3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2)
      Squats (16,16,16,16,16,16,16,16,16,16,15,15,15,15,15,15,1 5,1 5,1 5,15)

First of all: I reached my first milestone - 20!

      Second:

Well, not quite sure about changing my (monday) routine yet. I got great feedback, but am still unsure on how to proceed further. I would like to know how far I can go with the actual routine if you get my drift ... and on the other hand ... well, ...

Time is not at the "critical-level" ... yet. Even my wife said today: don´t worry

What I will change - and the things I am sure of yet - are the following ones:

      Bridge&Kettlebell-Day:
      - start TGU working in sets and raising reps week after week till I reach 15 (perhaps starting with 3: 33333, 43333, 443333, ...)
      - I will also try one-arm-swings ... haven´t done it before, therefore I will experiment with it a bit. Perhaps it goes well, or I stick to normal swings. Will see it on the morrow. Perhaps dividing the sets in half? first part one-arm, second-part normal? still thinking ...

      Pull&Abs-Day:
      - This day is already a short day! only 5 sets! I really liked xingyiquan recommendation referring to the hanging-knee-raises and the grip-problem. Will do as he suggested: First set max, and then as much sets as I need to reach my goal!
      - not quite sure if I should only stick to the bar-workout - or if I should experiment with v-ups ... As I know me, I will experiment with v-ups ... will see if this works out for me. Therefore: V-Ups are on the menue.

Still thinking on reducing the sets, though ...!

Apart form the above mentioned: It felt great working out today - and I really felt refreshed afterwards. All tiredness was washed away!

And: our landlord was here with one of his own workmen (not a firm as usual) - the firm which normally does all the work did probably all wrong in the past - my landlord was pissed. He promised to do the job right now. Now: waiting for the workman to return with the parts he need to finish the job!

I am also a lack of coffee headache victim >.>

I actually started using a french press not bc it makes better coffee, but to stop myself drinking the whole 12 cup pot in the morning. Aparently it is genetic, as my dad drinks a full pot (black... I take a drop of milk) before my step mom gets up. She bought a keurik thing so she can make herself a cup w out making a full 2nd pot for him to finish off bc he will if it's there.

Yeeeaaahhhhh, another one! Welcome to the Club

A French Press is such a beautiful invention. Always preferable over any other coffee-device IMHO. Well, only when I do not have my cold-brew at hand of course - which is rather rare those days, because the cold-brew is always ready in the fridge and I am rather crazy and forward-looking about supplies if you get my drift. But for brewing, or for the need of a good hot one, or for guests - my all time favourite.

I have the "whole-pot-syndrom" as well. Well, sometimes we have to cheat ourselves, right?

I bring my own coffee with me to work (1/2L). Light roast, freshly grinded, Arabica (mostly Ethiopian or Kenyan) French Press and straight on a thermos.) This way I have a nice fresh cup of coffee which is not too strong for my taste at office. It last until lunch time. Most days I don’t drink coffee after work or after 5pm.

            Good luck with the challenge

Sundance sounds delicious - I hereby order one thermos by you
I did this too in the past, but that made things worse, at least for me, I drank my thermos just on top Then I stopped it. Perhaps I will give it another try when reaching my goal and nowing that I will stick to a "coffee-plan" if you get my drift - it is after all a "mind-thing", right?

I will beat this challenge ... (hopefully) ...

When I went to university, I always drank too much coffee, so I quit cold turkey whenever an exam phase was over. It gave me a headache from Hell, and even muscle cramps! Somehow, my coffee intake regulated itself to 2-3 cups per day (one at home, one before lunch at the office and the last one after lunch) when I started my current job.

I wish you all the best of luck with the challenge

sleep_twitch Will do my best with the challenge and hope that the coffee-intake will adjust as well to perhaps 2-3 cups a day. Today is day2 - so far, so good - although the temptation is a great one here in office - lots of coffee and "Krebbels" atm because a colleague brought some pastry ... but I am strong and withstand the coffee-goddess

When I feel like I'm dangerously leaning toward the coffee-addicted side of life, I replace a couple of cups ( usually the afternoon ones) by chicoree. No cafeine, quite tasty (at least for me). Maybe it's worth trying if you ever struggle ? I also tried roasted spelled (german wheat ?) smells a bit odd but with some almond milk it does taste great.

                      Rest between sets: 1min

                      Bridge: (11,11,11,11,11,11,11,11,11,11,10,10,10,10,10,10,1 0,10,10,10)
                      One-Arm-Kettlebell-Swing-16kg: (11,11,11,11,11,11,11,11,11,11,10,10,10,10,10,10,1 0,10,10,10)
                      TGU: (2,2,2,2,2)

Wow - todays workout was intense.

It started low with bridges (I have to do something here, perhaps next time feet elevated as next step?).

Then I go for xingyiquan suggestion and tried out one-arm-swings. I have to confess: I liked it very much! It was challenging. I needed a few rounds to get the hang of it, but then it went very smooth. Will continue this way! After I was done I just did some normal swings - to test it and to take a look at the difference. Normal swings felt so easy after 20 sets of one-arm-swings
Because I didn´t know how to count best, I rotated left and right after each set. That means, 10 sets with my left, and 10 sets with my right hand. Next week I have to play "rock, paper, sciccors, lizard, spock" to check which side wins and extra set. Or should each set involve both arms directly. Any suggestions xingyiquan ?

At last I did my TGU. I did 5 sets as suggested by xingyiquan . I choose 2,2,2,2,2 to start, perhaps I will change it or stick to it. My arms got really sweaty to the end - which made the bell really slippy. Well, lets see what the next week brings.

It took me a bit longer then an hour to complete it. Time flew by very fast, fortunately not the bell.

                      Enjoy your day Bees!

Thank Nefisa for your post! I have to confess: I would have never thought of chicoree as replacement. Your other suggestion is unfortunately no option. I think you meant "spelt"? (german: Dinkel). I tasted it ones, not my "cup of coffee" and it contains gluten, which doesn´t suit my wife. I will only take the almond-milk instead.

How about one legged bridges as a replacement? TheLibrarian

Glad you enjoyed it TheLibrarian ... Indeed the best is to switch arm on the fly and consider right plus left as one set

Btw use bouldering chalk.... It avoids you to tear your hands open or to let the bell go... For less than 3 euros you can even save your head Either from yourself during TGU or from your wife if you let the bell fly around

Yes "spelt", blame my browser auto-correct , it "spelt" it wrong. ^^.
mogster I do 3x45sec of one-legged bridges every evening : not even worth a very bad cup of lukewarm instant coffee. ^^
