                      main course:

"Eating the Cake" - definitely a LvL 3.5 workout

                      Historical Fencing: "Langschwert"

                      Comments:

Well, I think I don´t have to go into detail on the first part of my workout ... I had a day off and spend a great day with my wife! What else to wish for? right: nothing!

In the evening I had another class of historical fencing - yesterday with the "Langschwert". It was a really exhausting and demanding session - I still feel it today - something worthy of theLibrarian´s-birthday We trained many things: "Kreuzhau", "Oberhau", "Unterhau", "etc." - it was really a lot stuff I have to learn and to memorize, fortunately I have a diary, in those cases it is like a treasure-trove. I really enjoyed yesterdays trainings-session!

And it was a perfect timing as well, because yesterday was the day when my swords arrived!

These are my new working-tools for the historical-fencing-class:

Long story short: Great day with great people and an awesome working-out-session!

                      Enjoy your day Bees!

TheLibrarian Woah, those swords look really nice

How heavy are they? Can you use them to actually fight?

                          Comment

Knirin mogster oh yes, they are real beauties

mogster well, I haven´t weighed them yet. But I would guess that the "Langschwert" is about max 1.8kg, perhaps a little bit lighter, but not more then 1.8kg. The "Langes Messer" is a bit lighter of course.
Your other question: Depends on how you define "actually fighting" it is not a sharp sword if you mean that! But I would say you can definitely fight with them, and we use them in our training not only to learn the movements, but for fighting against each other as well. And well, you can also fight with a rod, and this is just wood - and often underestimated.

We will definitely have a lot of fun together ... and lots of muscle ache, soreness, bruises, etc. as well I think
