Knirin Good to hear that you are doing fine! Regarding weights in Ironborn. Imho it makes sense to use different weights in Ironborn depending on the muscle groups. For lateral raises i also took a bit lighter dumbbells. For Legs and back heavier ones. And for the Farmer's Walk i went "All In!"

Good to hear from you, Knirin. Have a happy Easter holiday and enjoy Ironborn

        Happy Easter, Knirin!

Glad you're enjoying Iron Born. Yes, lateral ones are terribly tough (I'm doing it and I've never done any weight training before), but my experience is that you see a quite noticeable improvement relatively quickly! I've also found that confidence and belief are very big - for me, maybe not for you - in going for things that I worry I might not be able to do.

        Enjoy!

        Take care.

          Yay, everything is alright!

(And now I have "Three little birds" stuck in my head ... )

Have fun with Ironborn! Yeah, the lateral raises are haaaarrrdd. At first I tried doing them with my arm fully extended, which was almost impossible to do for the given number of reps.
After looking closely at the picture I noticed the guy has his arms slightly bent upwards and biceps up, which I could only do if I angled my arms by turning my arm from my wrist. In that position, I'm not just using my shoulder but also my biceps to raise my arm and it gets slightly more doable. Not easy by any stretch, but a bit more doable for the given reps and sets. Maybe that helps you too.

Oh well, I haven't been good in keeping this blog up and running in the last three weeks...
I started Ironborn (as I reported on here before), reached Day 7, dreaded Day 8 (the planks), stopped altogether, restarted, reached Day 4, got sick...

On Sunday, I finally continued with Ironborn Day 5 and hey, I haven't stopped since. Today was Day 10 and I came to the conclusion that it's time to up the weights - with my 4 kg dumbbells, today has been nice, but not a real challenge. But I've got some more plates around here, so from tomorrow, I'll use 6 kgs. We'll see how much of a challenge that will be.

            Have a nice Weekend!

I'm still not back to normal regarding my check-ins; but the workouts are back to regularity!
Today was Ironborn, Day 14. The 6 kg dumbbells are definitely a better fit, although I swapped them for the lighter weights for the bent-over fly today. I didn't want to kill my shoulders completely as tonight will be training.

Oh, by the way, Monday has been my turn at the RWC... I was unlucky with the random part - the is definitely way above my head. Although I'm a bit proud that I made it nearly two thirds through the first set before I wasn't able to push any more. And this workout is definitely hard - and no chance to substitute with knee push-ups for most part of the exercises. Oh well, I'll try my luck again in the next round.

Oh wow that's a brutal workout! Good on you for trying it!

Regularity? *laughs* Well, one could say that - I didn't do anything the last two weeks.
First I came down with something (well, a stupid virus as it then showed) and then - luckily - I had 1.5 weeks of holidays and I spent much of that time sitting in the sun and reading. It helped me a lot to calm down after all that had happened in the last two months and everything that will probably happen in the next months...

Today, I'm back at work. In the morning, I at least did my Allkampf forms (something like the hyeong/tul/poomsae in Taekwondo) and got moving. I haven't continued Ironborn yet... I don't know if I should restart it once more or just continue it or even leave yet another program in exchange for something "better"...
Just saw last weeks challenge and today's DD... perhaps I can get myself to do these as soon as I get home tonight (in around 3 hours). And the 100 challenge for June looks not so bad either.

I'm still lacking motivation to do a lot of things, not only my workouts. I'm struggling once again with the want to do way too many things in way too little time. I'm feeling lost somehow. But well, giving up is not an option either, is it?

Sometimes it is not that bad to do nothing at all for a certain time, and sometimes, especially, when there is so much stuff to do, it is even better to get back to the basics for a while, just to get into the mood again...
like simply doing push-ups, squats and sit-ups for example, or your Allkampf forms. Sometimes this helps, stepping back one or two steps and then restart.
(I once had a time of 2 or more months of not doing anything... )

Some for you - I hope life will get less difficult for you soon!

It's always good to start with *anything* whenever you feel lost and overwhelmed - like a nice low-impact yoga workout / your favorite stretching routine / practice your forms etc.. I started this way when I felt lost due to an overloaded schedule last time. I just played around for some days, repeated some workouts from my folders, did random yoga videos from my youtube subscriptions etc. - until I didn't feel lost anymore and decided on my new routine. It is important to be patient and to appreciate the fact that you are doing *something*, even if it isn't a program or an official challenge at the moment!

                                Thank you, lpf and sleep_twitch!

Tried the Fighter Coordination Challenge yesterday right before bed - that was fun!!
So I decided to start my day today with the challenge once more. I definitely enjoyed that one (and even made a video...). But I definitely need to work on my punches. Of course, it's been just shadowboxing, but it looks like I angled my wrists and that's definitely a no-go.
Added yesterday's DD and today's DD, both with EC, afterwards.

Admittedly, I'm quite content with that.

Tonight, first Allkampf training after two weeks.
