Perhaps to get a similar burn as you'd get from high knees, you might try mountain climbers but using sliders or socks. You'd be doing a kind of horizontal run that way.
Also check out the Silent collection.

For the other jumping exercises like jumping jacks, I replaced them with the Goofy Jacks

Or in alternative you can do Step Jacks.

Here is a thread regarding silent and neighbor friendly workouts.
    All the best.

When you see this symbol, it means go flat out. You will see it next to high knees exercises only and it implies for you to sprint as fast as you can. The rest of the circuit can be done at a regular speed.

so for day one of the total burn core workout, it'll essentially become 100 march steps and 20 bicep extensions?

You can substitute High Knees with March Steps. The movement performed is similar, but of lower intensity and with more control. If you do the March Steps faster and maybe longer, they can get intensive, too.
You can also put a thick mat under your feet while doing so, it will cushion your steps and lessen the impact, too.

    Suitable exercise substitutions

So, I'm looking to substitute various jumping/ running exercises with others. I'm living on a second story and would like to not risk things falling off my shelves as I workout. so things like the high knees (which i didnt immediately know were performed as a running in place movement,) I dont feel comfortable doing. What would be a suitable exercise I could do instead? I would really like to start the core workout but i dont know what to substitute in.
Working...
