Working out on an empty stomach

Is it recommended to eat before workout? Currently i only drink a cup of milk before the workout, will this help me burn extra stored fat if i do so or will it reduce muscle gain?

Neither, really. Unless the workout is super long and you only eat the next batch of protein four hours later.

Whether you want to work out on empty depends on how well it fits into your personal schedule. And also how you feel during the workout. Personally I need blood sugar to be motivated, but I know that other people (like my husband) are motivated to work out no matter how hungry they are.

This is something one only needs to worry about if one is a professional athlete or bodybuilder. Amateurs and hobbyists don't really get into ranges where this becomes relevant.

Before the gym this morning for 7:30am, an hour earlier I have 2 slices of sprouted grain bread, a lot of peanut butter and jam.

It depends on your goals. There's a good article in the Guides section that might help you decide:

I prefer to do my morning workouts in a fasted state. My partner is the total opposite. Different bodies, different goals.
