I agree with Azercord - health before physical looks! I would recommend the Baseline program if you want to start losing weight- seems easy, but if you do level 3 (7 sets) with perfect form, you will be surprised at the change! Cardio High is another good option to High Burn. I am sure that you will do great!

If it is available to you I would highly recommend weightlifting. You don't need to go heavy you just need to be consistent and work the body, since you are new and muscle will build easily. The only concern I would say I would have is your calorie consumption. You are a teenager and driven by hormones which come mostly from fats. You need that especially now. I would say eat maintenance, add exercise, and drop the timeline/target weight.

Muscle mass you really help you out in the long run as well (yes this can be done through just Darebee as well you just have to push yourself) since it is more expensive calorically to maintain. For example I'm 5'9" and 180lbs and need to eat about 3000 calories a day to maintain this. I'm currently around 15% (or a hair less) body fat so not shredded but not too fluffy either.

Put your health first and ascetics second

For someone who is new to exercising like you, Foundation is a great choice. You'll be able to choose more challenging programs or training plans when you have completed the program and know a little better what your strengths and weaknesses are.

I know that for me a healthy diet can be harder than working out, so good luck Deimos for both!

Gandhalfit Oh thats a typo.. I meant to say I cut my calories by around 500 - 600. I consume maybe 900-1000 and before I used to consume 1500 -1600. So a 500-600 calorie reduction. Obviously this isn't sustainable longer than a few months but perhaps by that point I wouldn't need to. ( I'd maintain, bulk, whatever).

Redline Thank you so much. You're right- I should be forming healthy habits....I'll be better off than before and in the long run.
Is there a specific workout or program that you would recommend I start off with? Or is foundation fine like Gandhalfit said. I'll continue doing High Burn / Cardio like HellYeah recommended. The calculator will definitely come in handy.

Thanks for the help If I need anything else I will ask!

Welcome to the Hive, Deimos !

As HellYeah said, there are ways to calculate how many calories you will burn through your workouts - just remember than those are estimates and can vary greatly from one individual to another.

As you know, the only "trick" for weight loss is to burn more calories than what you take in daily. It sounds easy but it also means you have to accept that there are days when you will feel hungry (it gets better with time), tired, or cranky. Your weight loss won't be a linear thing either (there are days when you will seem to have lost a lot on the scales, but it will probably have been mostly water, and others when you don't seem to make any progress, but remember you have to give your body time to adapt). Your goal of 2lbs per week is not unrealistic, but the important thing is to stay motivated in the long run and to build healthy habits gradually.

As far as exercise is concerned, try to ease into it and to get accustomed to the moves you have little experience with. Don't be too obsessed with performance, progress will come with consistency. And try to listen to your body : it's OK to do just a little if you really feel beat on some days. Giving yourself time to recover means you will do more and better in the long run.

Don't hesitate if you have more questions!

Dre_Cappin017, looking like "this", with as much muscle mass and such a little body fat percentage, can only be achieved with chemical aid, photo editing skills, or both, I'm afraid. I certainly wouldn't recommend the former. But that doesn't mean you can't build a very good-looking physique naturally - like a lot of things, it mostly takes time and dedication. The good news is, considering your current age, time is in your favour. Just consider setting more attainable goals for the near future, and see where you go from there. Just my two cents.

    Welcome to the Hive.
You wrote that you have already cut your calories intake and now it's 600? I'm no expert but that sounds really low especially for someone your age.
Regarding your age, you should also consider building stronger bones, muscles, tendons... etc.
I suggest starting with level 2 or level 3 workouts Foundation program that you already started is pretty great actually and reading about what would be better for you. You might also want to consider doing focused workouts every other day: Monday strength training, Tuesday cardio, Wednesday strength, Thursday cardio... and taking at least one complete day of rest in a week, preferably two.
    Good Luck

*I forgot about the fitness test. It could help you not to go too slow or too fast.

Deimos You can choose any workout in the cardio/high burn section, how much calories you burn can be calculated here.

I want to lose 30 -35 pounds by May 30th

Hi! So I'm 16m and I've recently decided to actually take care of my body and improve myself.
    I'm 5 foot 8 inches and weigh 195 pounds.
My goal is to be 160 pounds by May 30th(30 pounds 3 -4 months ) - or at least be consistent in losing 2 pounds every week.

I cut my calories by 500 or so ( I think its around 1000) so ik I'll be losing 1 pound a week if I'm consistent with this. I want to get that to 2 pounds through exercise. I'm just not sure what workout to be doing and for how long I should be exercising a day to get there.

I searched up Darebee 500 calorie workout and not much pops up... I did manage to find the High Burn workout for beginners and I plan on doing that. How many calories would I burn if I did that? And for how long should I be doing that?

I'm just really new to all of this so I dont know the best way to strategize it. What I'm asking for is a 500 calorie workout that isn't going to burn me out and I can do (somewhat) consistently ( I'll have to switch it up at some point to confuse my body) for some time ( how long?).

Oh... I also started doing the foundation workout on this site and I'll be doing the 16 : 8 IF from 8 pm to 12 am. 26 percent body fat ( according to this). 39 inch waist. I've got practically no muscle so I can't do exercises that are too difficult to start off with. Its hard finding something suitable for beginners but does burn a high amount of calories.
