Alternative to squats

My boot is a foot long, at work I could use my fett one in front of the other and measure out how many feet something is, like 16 feet.

Metric is cool until you slap kilo on the front of it then I don't like it. kg is less precise than lbs and km is horrible for long distance. Sub kilo is good though. And don't even get me started on the tonne, bunch of horse manure there (sorry, mining rant done)

Canada is metric but in construction nobody uses it, sometimes I'll dig a 4 foot deep hole 4'X4'. The only metric is temp, car speed and distance. I hate metric, I'm 5' 8" 148 lbs and don't care what that is in metric.

Alternative to squats
A while ago I had made a thread about feeling sore in my lower back after doing squats, and it seemed that I was not supposed to feel that aka something is wrong. I'm doing Ironborn with 10kg dumbbells and when it comes to the squats it feels like that's a mistake ready to happen, I just can't do them properly or something, even without weights. So I'm wondering if there's like an alternative exercise that works the same as squats but that would at least prevent my back from suffering?Tags: None
