pain in palm when working arms?

hey guys...i've just had to stop working out mid-arm day because of the pain i'm experiencing in my right palm. this often happens when i'm doing non weighted arm workouts, and it's hindering my arm progress because i have to keep stopping and shaking it out. it can range from a gentle throb to really hurting a lot. i've experienced it sometimes in the left, but always in the right palm. i can't find anything about it online - all searches end up being about wrist pain and pain when gripping dumbells, neither of which apply to me. it is literally just like the inside of my palm.

is this a result of weak arms, or something nerve-y? i'm sorry if it seems obvious. but i don't like to go to the doctors usually, and it feels even weirder to go and say i get a pain but only when working out!

now i'm sitting here having rested but been typing for a couple minutes, the pain isn't there (it stops immediately when stopping working out and shaking out my hand) but i can feel a kind of heaviness migrating up my forearm...

Pain on the palm with added tingles, going up to the wrist and forearm? Well, probably you will actually have to go to the doctor even if you don't want to, because that sounds a lot like carpal tunnel syndrome. That can bring a terrible amount of pain, and could become chronic if not treated.

Obviously we can not help as a doctor would, and all we can do is to guess, but carpal tunnel syndrome is a kind of common thing, but also a real trouble to deal with and something to be serious about.

As for the treatment... all you can do on your own are stretches, quit alcohol completely, lose weight if you need to, get your thyroid checked and maybe get an orthosis on a farmacy to wear during your sleep. But a doctor is your best option, and I mean it. Very serious cases would require surgery. Don't let it go that further.

this is what i was afraid of, thank you...i'd convinced myself because i'm only 23 and in relatively good shape, it wouldn't be that. but it certainly feels like it! this is the kick up the butt i needed, so thank you! i'll get it checked out!
