Mass Effect Diet and Gym timing

    Hey there, everyone!

I'll be starting Ironborn and 30 days of Strength at the end of May and was curious about the Mass Effect Diet.

I notice that Meal 4 usually combines the carbs with your proteins and fats and I'm just curious if this diet is meant specifically for those who work out before Meal 4 (so dinner time, around 6-7).

I work out in the mornings, so I have my breakfast (1/3 cup of oatmeal, 1/2 cup of blueberries, 1/2 scoop of Whey protein powder, tsp of coconut oil).

Then I make my post workout shake (100gs of Kale, 1 Banana, tsp of coconut oil, 1 scoop of BCAA, 1 scoop of Protein powder and 1/3 cup of rolled oats).

Then 45min-1 hour later I usually have a meal with each third of my plate being protein, veggies, and complex carbs.

As the day goes on I eat fewer carbs and when dinner comes up I eat no carbs and substitute this for healthy fats, so I'm just curious, could I technically switch up when I have certain meals? For example, have Meal 4 as a lunch instead of dinner?

My overall goal is to gain more lean muscle, and I find that I get tired when I have carbs after around 6 PMish. Just curious if anyone else is doing the same thing or if they're following as is.

Any tips or advice would be great appreciated.

    Cheers!

Make the diet fit you first so don't be afraid to make changes but you can also experiment a bit and see what works and what may work better. Make the meal adjustments to fit your schedule, give it a couple weeks, see how if feels. If it feels good then keep going, if you think some changes are in order then go for it and try it out again for another couple of weeks. As long as you are eating more than you are burning you will add on the mass, your food choice already looks pretty good so this diet would be more you making sure you get the calories in and playing with meal timing.

    BTW - liking the beard.
