If i miss a day do i just do it the next day?

I suffer from severe depression, ive started the excersize as a way of helping that. However today i have been unable to get motivated to do anything let alone the excersizes. How much of an effect will missing one day have?

    Thanks.

    Welcome to the Hive.

I'm really sorry you are suffering from depression. I have also started to exercise to become more happy. Though I don't suffer from depression, I can tell you that regular exercise is definitely boosting my mood. I hope it does the same thing for you.

Missing a single day of workout won't have a big impact. What I would advise you DON'T do is to try to make up for it by doing the workout of the day you missed and the workout you were supposed to do. That would be really bad. Trust me, I have tried to do that and I ended up regretting it later.

So if you aren't feeling too well and can't exercise it's okay to skip a day or two. Take it slowly and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need to. There are a lot of Bees here ready to help and support you.

    Best wishes.

(A small tip, when you reply to someone, tag them like I just did. That way they can get a notification and see your post. You can also quote people.)

You are welcome. And yes, I know what you mean. The first few days were really exciting for me because I have never worked out and everything was so new to me.

I must admit that I have also skipped a few days, but that is because I got lazy. The important thing is that I kept working out and now tomorrow all sweat and tears will pay off once I complete Foundation.

After that, it's on to the next challenge. That's what fitness is to me. A never-ending challenge that will (hopefully) make more happy and fulfilled in the end.

Yeah one day isn't too bad. If u miss a week or so then things might get a little complicated but your fine.

              Heero Potter No problem!

I assume you are doing the Foundation to start things off? I tried to do 3 workouts that I have missed on a single day. Why? Because I was frustrated at myself for missing out on workouts because I was lazy. It was very early in the program so I thought that I would be fine. I WAS NOT. The next whole week my muscles were so sore that I could barely move. I also had a minor injury after my brisk walking session and was doing a great imitation of Dr. House after that.

So what I have decided to do is rest for a whole week. And then repeat the previous week of Foundation to do it right. Had a much better time.

I'm struggling with depression too. You have guts and grit to do what you do to help yourself, and as long as you do it for yourself and not to prove anything it will be really awesome. I know personally both the good effects as well as why I had to make that caveat 😏

One day won't make a difference fitness wise - but in my case it does mentally. Because one day becomes a whole string of days. That's just me personally though.

Luckily I've been exercising so long that I pick up the habit again very quickly. Even if I just do 5 minutes of yoga.

Sometimes that's all you need to do. 5 minutes of a warmup or yoga.

My brain connects exercise to creativity. So sometimes, all I have to do is start imagining my way into a story...and that's enough to make me want to exercise. Because it becomes more vivid when I move.

Anyway, take good care of yourself!
