Stand tall and extend both arms straight up overhead. Bend your elbows and bring your fingertips down to tap the tops of your shoulders, then press the arms back up to the full overhead reach. Keep your ribs down and your back tall - the arms travel, the torso doesn't. Reach for the ceiling like you mean it on every rep; the last few inches of the press are where the shoulders actually clock in.
Works: shoulders, triceps, upper back
Breathing: Exhale as you press the arms up, inhale as you tap the shoulders.
Common Mistakes: Cutting the overhead reach short, arching the lower back to get the arms higher, and letting the elbows flare and drift forward as fatigue builds.
Make Easier: Do them seated, press one arm at a time, or slow the pace down.
Make Harder: Extend the set and add a 2-count hold at the top of every press, or move on to Shoulder Taps to take the same tap into a plank.
