DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Cardio
Type: Burn
Difficulty: level 1 of 5

Technically Cardio is exactly what the fine print promises - seventy reps of continuous standing movement that raises your heart rate without a single jump, sprint or apology. Step half jacks three times, step backs twice, step bicep extensions twice: the entire cardio family tree, with every high-impact branch politely pruned.

The word technically is doing honest work, and so is the workout. Every exercise here is a stepped translation of something bouncier: step half jacks trade the jump for a wide step while one arm sweeps, step backs turn running into a controlled rearward reach of alternating legs, and step bicep extensions fold arm work into the footwork so the pulse keeps its lease. Nothing leaves the ground, which means nothing pounds the knees, ankles or downstairs neighbors - and yet seventy continuous reps of stepping, sweeping and reaching is, by every physiological measure that matters, cardio. The heart does not check whether you jumped. It only checks whether you moved.

Keep the steps wide and deliberate - a lazy shuffle converts this from technically cardio to technically standing. Sweep the arms through their full arc on the half jacks, reach genuinely back on the step backs with your chest tall, and keep the bicep extensions crisp at shoulder height while the feet keep time underneath.

No jumping, no pounding, no loopholes closed. The heart rate is up, and that is the only technicality that counts.

Make it Harder: Speed up every block while keeping the steps wide.

Make it Easier: Slow the pace and shrink the steps - it still counts.

I have always wanted to find a place that would meet me at my level wherever I am, encourage me to stay motivated, fit in my busy schedule, not require a gym membership, offer variety, be fun, help me feel like part of a team without leaving my house, and still be affordable. That has been my dream. So Darebee.com makes my dream a reality. It does all that and more. I would highly, highly recommend this site to absolutely anyone.

BUT what I think is at least as great is the design and functionality of the website. It is just so clean and well organized. I love the filter functions, they work very well and you can find exactly what you need in seconds. Also the bookmark feature is just awesome! The way you can organize the bookmarks, create different collections and sort them so efficiently is very thoughtful and way better than I have seen it on many bigger platforms. I think it is just an example where one can see that the Darebee team not only strives to create the best workouts but for excellence on every level. Tank you! You are doing an awesome job!

After more than a decade, and after trying countless websites and apps, it's still my number one choice for workout plans and creative exercise inspiration. Unlike other apps and sites, the full experience is available regardless of ability to pay; even when the job market has been tough, Darebee has been there with accessible, effective workouts to help keep me on track when other obstacles crop up. Whether it's a full workout, or a little challenge to supplement other routines, Darebee has ALWAYS had me covered. The wide variety of skill levels available means that I can find something, even if injured, tired, or simply out of practice. Need to work on something specific? Pick a challenge for it. Injured? Rehab workouts and exercise alternatives abound. Not sure how to use all those dumbbells you somehow acquired over the years? No problem--you can find workouts with that equipment. In conclusion: Darebee is pretty rad; an awesome, effective resource, that anybody who needs a bit of sweat and strength in their lives can appreciate. Thanks to the Darebee team for their dedication, hard work, and commitment!
