DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Upperbody
Type: Combat
Difficulty: level 2 of 5

Slay Mode is a striking workout with a full arsenal and no filler - seventy strikes per set across five different weapons. Palm strikes, backfists, punches, uppercuts and elbow strikes rotate through seven blocks of ten, and by the final elbows, your shoulders know precisely what mode they have been in.

The sequence tours the complete striking vocabulary, and each entry loads the shoulders through a different arc. Palm strikes open twice, driving open-handed and straight from the hips. Backfists whip out sideways from the centerline. Punches - appearing twice in the second row - rotate through the classic straight line, while uppercuts between them drive from low to high, recruiting the legs and core in a vertical arc nothing else in the set touches. Elbow strikes close at the shortest range, all torso rotation and no arm extension at all. Long range, short range, straight, sideways, upward: a complete kit, with the recurring blocks arriving on progressively more tired shoulders.

Every strike starts from the ground - rotate hips before shoulders, shoulders before hands, and snap each one back to guard as fast as it went out. Keep the uppercuts driving from bent knees rather than swinging from the elbow. On the closing elbow strikes, turn your whole torso through each rep; the power in an elbow is entirely borrowed from the rotation beneath it.

Seventy strikes, five ranges, zero hesitation. Mode: engaged.

Make it Harder: Speed up every block while keeping full rotation.

Make it Easier: Drop each block to five strikes and slow the pace.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.
