DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Fullbody
Type: Metcon
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

She Ascends is a cardio and lower body workout with a title that reads like a prophecy and a structure that quietly delivers one. Punches, squat step backs, calf raises and squat hold punches - striking work woven through three different kinds of rising: out of deep squats, up onto the toes, out of a held position. Every exercise here ends higher than it started. That's not an accident. That's the theme.

The circuit runs without rest between exercises, and punches are the constant - four blocks of 10 spread through the set, the drumbeat under the ascent. Between them, the legs work through a progression of rises: squat step backs drop into a wide, deep position and climb out of it on the move, ten times; calf raises lift the whole body onto the balls of the feet, twice over, training the final inches of every rise; and squat hold punches park the legs at depth while the hands work - the one station where ascending is deferred, deliberately, so the legs remember what they're rising from. Hands that never stop, legs that keep climbing: the workout builds the exact combination its title promises, one set at a time.

Punch with full extension and snap every hand back to guard. In squat step backs, hit real width and depth before rising to step - the ascent only counts if the descent was honest. Rise all the way to the top of each calf raise and lower with control. During squat hold punches, keep your depth fixed while the arms work; the legs hold the floor so the rest of you can rise later.

Every set starts low and finishes tall. She ascends - on schedule, by her own power, again tomorrow.

Make it Harder: Double both calf raise blocks to 20 and hold the squat punches deeper.

Make it Easier: Shallow all squat positions to half depth and drop each punch block to 5.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.
