DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Fullbody
Type: Strength
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Savage Strength is a dumbbell strength workout with a name that describes the method, not the mood. Squats, Romanian deadlifts, chest press, single-arm rows and reverse lunges - five compound lifts and nothing else. No finishers, no burnout sets, no cleverness. Savage here means stripped of everything decorative: pick up the weight, move it well, rest, repeat until strong.

This one departs from the usual Darebee circuit format: it's a straight-sets strength workout with up to 2 minutes of rest between exercises and sets, each lift completed in full before the next begins. That generous rest is the entire philosophy. Strength is built by lifting near your best, and lifting near your best requires actual recovery - so the program gives it to you and expects you to spend it on heavier, cleaner reps. The order is classical: squats first while you're freshest, Romanian deadlifts to load the posterior chain that squatting warmed up, chest press for the upper body push, single-arm rows for the pull - 8 per side, each lat working alone - and reverse lunges last, 8 per leg, unilateral work to finish legs that have already paid the compound tax.

Squat with the dumbbells racked at the shoulders, sitting between your heels with an upright torso. Hinge Romanian deadlifts from the hips with soft knees and a flat back, lowering until the hamstrings speak up. Press with feet planted and lower to full chest level under control. Row to the lower ribs without twisting, the free hand braced firm. In reverse lunges, keep the dumbbells heavy at your sides and the front shin vertical.

Civilization gave us programming, periodization and pre-workout. Strength still gets built the savage way: heavy thing, good form, again.

Make it Harder: Add a 3-second lowering phase to every rep of every lift.

Make it Easier: Go lighter and drop every exercise to 2 sets, keeping the full rest.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.
