Sagittarius is a no-equipment tone and mobility circuit built for the archer of the zodiac: 10 reverse lunges, 10 side-to-side lunges, 10 arm scissors, 10 scissor chops, 10 archers, 10 twists and 10 side bends. Legs first, then arms sweeping through every line an arm can travel, with the workout's namesake exercise - the archer - sitting at its center like a drawn bow.
The circuit is organized around planes of movement, which is very much an archer's concern: hitting a target means controlling every direction at once. The lunges cover forward-and-back, then side-to-side, loading the legs in both planes before the arms take over. The arm block escalates through horizontal scissors, diagonal chops, and finally archers - a pull-and-extend movement that mirrors drawing a bowstring, working the upper back on the pulling side while the extended arm stabilizes. Twists then rotate the torso through the transverse plane and side bends finish in the frontal one. By the end, your trunk and shoulders have moved through every plane available to them. Nothing here is loaded heavily; everything is aimed carefully.
In side-to-side lunges, keep both feet planted and shift your weight fully over the bent leg, letting the other leg straighten. During archers, pull the drawing elbow straight back at shoulder height and squeeze the shoulder blade toward your spine - the extended arm stays long and level, sighting down an imaginary arrow. Twists rotate from the waist with hips staying forward. Side bends travel strictly sideways; the moment you lean forward, the stretch escapes.
An arrow flies true because of everything that happens before release. Train the draw.
Make it Harder: Add a 2-count pause at full draw on every archer rep.
Make it Easier: Halve the lunge counts and keep the full arm sequence.
