DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Fullbody
Type: Strength
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Princess to Queen is a dumbbell strength circuit about earning the bigger crown: 4 thrusters, 10 calf raises, 4 more thrusters, 4 renegade rows, 4 thrusters again, 4 more renegade rows, and 10 calf raises to finish. Two pieces of iron, seven stations, no shortcuts to the throne.

The workout is built around its two royal compound movements. Thrusters - a front squat driven straight into an overhead press - appear three times, and they are the single most demanding thing you can do with a pair of dumbbells: legs, glutes, core and shoulders working as one chain to move weight from floor level to overhead. Renegade rows answer them from the opposite position, pulling load toward you while your core fights to keep your hips level on three points of contact. Push pattern, pull pattern, alternating. The low rep counts are deliberate: four reps of a full-body lift done with intent trains more than twenty done carelessly, and the calf raises bracketing the circuit give your breathing a place to settle without ever putting the dumbbells down for long.

In thrusters, squat to full depth and use the drive out of the bottom to launch the press - the legs start what the shoulders finish, and finish means biceps by your ears, not weights drifting forward. In renegade rows, set your feet wider than usual and pull the dumbbell to your hip while keeping both hips pointed squarely at the floor; if your torso twists open, the row is stealing from your core. On calf raises, let the dumbbells hang heavy and rise with control.

A princess is born into the title. A queen builds hers - four reps at a time.

Make it Harder: Add two reps to every thruster and renegade row set.

Make it Easier: Do the renegade rows without the row - hold the plank on the dumbbells and simply shift your weight side to side.

I really like this website. It doesn't make me overthink what to workout. I would just do one or two of these workouts, walk for 45 minutes and stretch. It makes me feel good.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.
