DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Fullbody
Type: Strength
Difficulty: level 3 of 5

Body Basics is a bodyweight strength circuit built from movements you already know: squats, planks, shoulder taps and flutter kicks. In sequence you perform 10 squats, a 10-count squat hold, 10 more squats, then drop down for a 10-count plank hold, 10 shoulder taps, another 10-count hold and finish with 10 flutter kicks. Nothing exotic - just the fundamentals, loaded properly.

The structure works on a simple principle: sandwich an isometric hold between sets of dynamic reps. Your squats pre-fatigue the quads and glutes, the hold forces them to work under continuous tension without the brief unloading that happens at the top of each rep, and the second set of squats then arrives on tired muscle. The same logic repeats in the plank block - the holds bracket the shoulder taps so your core and shoulders never get a moment of true slack. Dynamic work builds strength through range of motion; isometric work builds the ability to stay braced. Doing both back to back builds each on top of the other.

In your squat hold, sit at working depth - thighs close to parallel - rather than hovering an inch below standing. In the plank, keep your hands under your shoulders and squeeze your glutes so your hips neither pike up nor sag. During shoulder taps, the goal is a quiet body: the slower and more controlled the tap, the harder your obliques work to stop your hips rotating. For flutter kicks, press your lower back toward the floor and keep the kicks small and steady.

Basics are what everything else is built on. Pour the foundation well.

Make it Harder: Extend every hold to a 20-count.

Make it Easier: Drop to your knees for the plank holds and shoulder taps.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.
