DAREBEE Workout: What it Works
Focus: Cardio
Type: Burn
Difficulty: level 1 of 5

As Advertised is a light cardio and mobility workout that does exactly what it says on the tin - no fine print, no hidden burpees on page two. Step jacks, side bends and knee-to-elbow raises make up the whole deal: low-impact, standing, equipment-free movement that raises your pulse, works your waist and gets your hips and shoulders moving through a full range. What you see on the poster is precisely what your body gets.

The circuit runs without rest between exercises, and the layout alternates work with active recovery in plain sight. Step jacks and knee-to-elbow raises are the effort: rhythmic, whole-body movements that keep your heart rate elevated and your coordination engaged. The side bends slotted between them are the honest kind of breather - your pulse settles slightly while your obliques and lats stretch and contract through lateral flexion, a plane of movement most workouts skip entirely. That alternating rhythm lets you keep moving for the entire set without redlining, which is the whole point of steady, sustainable cardio.

On step jacks, the arms do full jumping-jack arcs while one foot steps out at a time - full overhead reach, no half-hearted flapping. On side bends, keep hips still and bend strictly sideways, reaching up and over rather than collapsing forward. For knee-to-elbow, rotate the torso to bring elbow and rising knee together, and stand tall between reps instead of staying hunched.

No asterisks, no exclusions, no results-may-vary. Just a workout that delivers what it advertised.

Make it Harder: Swap step jacks for full jumping jacks at the same count.

Make it Easier: Drop the knee-to-elbow sets to 6 reps and keep the pace unhurried.

Grateful for your promise in keeping this site accessible and free for people of all fitness levels & goals around the world. Found Darebee some time years ago and used to just save the workouts and then forget about them somewhere in my documents & to do later lists 😅 but coming back to the site this year I loved the organised/simple layout & navigation of the site with full workout video at bottom to see proper form and notes to make things easier or harder depending on your fitness/energy aswell as an extensive exercise library with joint friendly alternatives. I found it much easier to track/check off completed workouts & days on program/plan on dashboard, was more likely to remember & do it + advanced filter made it quick to find a doable workout. As a tiny way to support this site I made account and use the site exclusively for exercises now, will look to donate when I can 🙏🏽 and would recommend it to all I talk to regarding fitness. Thank you Darebee team for the great job you've all done here and keep up the good work. Blessings to you all.

I found Darebee in 2014 and since then I’ve been using it on and off until 2024, when I decided to base all my workouts on Darebee alone. I love the pictures, the variety, the amount of time it takes to complete a workout and how you can mix and match if you have a lot of energy or only repeat 3 times if you don’t feel like exercising. The website is awesome and I recommend it whenever I talk about fitness with other people. I cannot thank Darebee enough for how much this project has helped me in having a solid exercise routine and how to deal with exercise when tired, injured or when I don’t have much time.
