One of the easiest cabbage recipes - sauteed with onions and tomato paste. It takes just minutes to prepare (mostly slicing and dicing) and after that you just need to keep an eye on the pot from time to time making sure it still has enough moisture to saute in (water and juices). It helps to simmer it from time to time but otherwise it's fairly straightforward. Although basic the recipe is very high in nutrients and low in calorific value - so it has that going for it.
¼ large cabbage
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt

1Remove the core from the cabbage and cut it into strips.
2Combine the cabbage, tomato paste and salt in a large pan.
3Cover with a lid and saute at medium heat for 20 minutes - or until all moisture has evaporated. Check it occasionally and stir. The cabbage should change colour and become soft when it’s ready.
