This sauce works great as an ice-cream or pancake topping or even cake frosting. It’s sweet and, unlike cream and sugar, it’s actually good for us. Dates contain flavonoids, carotenoids and phenolic acid. They help promote brain and heart health, fight inflammation and improve digestion. As far as sweeteners go, it doesn’t get much better than this.
You can use water instead of milk and it will work, too - it just won’t be as creamy.
Note to self: Eat in moderation.
1 cup dates
1 cup coconut milk

1Soak dates in plenty of water for 30 minutes then drain well.
2Combine with the coconut milk and blend in a food processor until smooth.
