Day 22 opens the Mastery block, and with it comes a new way to run the work: combos. When a card reads "3 combos: 10 climbers + 2 climber taps," it means you chain the two movements together - ten climbers straight into two climber taps, with no break - and run that chain three times through before moving on. The circuit around them is unchanged: the whole card is one lap, rested and repeated to your level. It opens with two holds back to back - a push-up-top 10-count hold, then a plank 10-count hold with one straight leg lifted.
High knees drive the knees up standing, then the first combo chains climbers into climber taps - the taps reaching a hand to the driving knee from the plank. Butt kicks fold the heels up at pace, and the second combo chains plank leg raises into plank arm raises, lifting one straight leg at a time and then one straight arm at a time from a held plank. Chaining the two plank movements means the shoulders and core stay loaded straight through both halves. Counts are totals across both sides.
In the plank combos, the plank never resets between the leg raises and the arm raises - brace the trunk and keep the hips square through the whole chain. On the climber combo, the taps come when the core is already warm from the climbers, so hold the plank steady rather than letting the hips pop up. Drive the standing work with intent and land light.
The first combos of Mastery link what used to be separate - and holding the plank across a whole chain is where you feel how far the base has come.
Make it Harder: Add one extra full pass to each combo chain, holding the plank clean through the added round.
Make it Easier: Break each combo after the first movement, resting a breath before the linked reps, and drop the plank work to your knees.
