    Active Start - January 1st, 2017

Some cultures believe that "How you start the year is how you'll end up spending it". Regardless whether you believe this to be true or not, milestones like the beginning on the New Year are important. Today may be the same as yesterday... but only if you decide it is. Very often all it takes is just a little push to change something. It doesn't have to be a long term resolution, no, it can be a single action you take today.

We have a tradition. A bunch of us get together, first thing on January 1st we go out and we run. It's something no one can take away from you, no one can stop you from doing. On the first day of each year we celebrate that fact and we run.

We are making it a DAREBEE tradition. This year we invite you to participate in the Active Start event. Wherever you are, whoever you are with - get out there and have yourself an Active Start! It can be a run or it can be a quick workout - it can be something just to get your blood flowing. Make it fun and make it memorable! And then check in below - just check in and tell us what you did, post a selfie!

Happy New Year! Let's start it with a bang!

It's probably cold, dark and maybe even slippery outside, so I think I'll do something a bit more home-oriented.

I'm continuously surprised by ways you want to bring the community together. This is a really great idea and I would love to participate, unfortunately my injury prevents me to do either of the two mentioned activities.

              Maybe next year.

I will be starting Jan. 1 on my bike Every morning, I wake up, and get on my bike. I will think about all the other Darebees doing something active on New Year's Day. Activity is a great way to start.

I'll try to remember. People will look weird at me for doing this in a cold, slippery and probably still foggy enviroment but I'll do this anyway. As Queen said it: 'Don't stop me now! .... I don't wanna stop at all!'

It's cold (-14!), windy and slippery outside. So I'll better perform quick workout.

Great idea from the always wonderful and inspiring Darebee team! I got my active start by doing the DD, finishing Foundations, and starting 90 Days of Action and the Fighter's Codex
