Pao I will probably try to set this up for next year, maybe April or May, hopefully the pandemic will be mostly behind us.

Hey CaptainCanuck this is a nice project and if by chance it goes back on you can count me in!
Also I found out in another thread that someone made an unofficial Strava Darebee Club... I was thinking maybe we could either go there (or ask to create an official one) and make the challenge directly from Strava maybe?

I resumed running two weeks ago. I’m doing not more than 2km as I’m fasting for Ramadan. I’m willing to do an easy-pace 5km anytime during this week.

I'll see about getting a run in this weekend. It will probably be on the treadmill but it should be doable.

I forgot to update, but this should be on hold until everyone has the chance to participate

My suggestion for the first page announcement: This will be the biggest covid-safe run of the year.
And I am happy, because it's my very first run (any distance)
Unfortunately it is not easy to receive deliveries where I am. Otherwise would buy a Darabee t-shirt

Nice idea, count me in as well. Right now I am preparing to run my first half-marathon (on March 22, Athens, Greece), although the emergency situation because of Covid-19 might screw this up...

I am definitely in for a DAREBEE 5K! I like the timing too: by the 3rd weekend of April it's a pretty safe bet that at least one day will be safe (and likely even pleasant) running weather in my corner of the Hive.

It is March 1st, and therefore the beginning of running season for most of us in the colder reaches of the northern hemisphere. The Darebee 5k is 7 weeks away, or as it can be completed any time during that weekend (April 17-19), between 47 and 49 days from now.
For those of you already training for running, keep it up.
For those who are not training, then now is the time to start to think about starting.
Darebee has a program for 8 weeks to 5k. There is one fewer week in there already, but for anyone starting, this would be a good place. Presumably even those approaching this fresh will already be training in some way, and if that is the case, then there should be some ways to cut a few days off here or there.
There are some other training programs out there for running a 5K, anywhere between 3 weeks and 8 weeks, so if you feel like something more intense or just increasing your time, then a google search will give you a wealth of information.
The most important thing to remember is the Darebee 5k is not a competition. We will record times for anyone that is interested, but it is ok if you would rather stay anonymous or keep your time to yourself. This is about fitness, about choosing a path to being a better you. That being the case, anyone who runs is the winner.

Newbie to Darebee but not so much to running, just finished rehab from a torn acl and am ready to get back in to it. So count me in!
